Mindhunter season 2

Away on "holiday", and DC flew out to their GP for the weekend this morning, DP is working (it's mid morning here) and I have all the time to myself!! Tempted to binge watch.

Has anyone started watching it? I am on the first episode and I am finding it interesting although not sure why they changed Tench's wife? Curious to see how this season will compare to the first which I extremely enjoyed.

Such a great series. They are going to make 5 series. I wonder if it will go right up to BTK being caught?

I found this series a bit slow and less interesting than series 1.

Season 2 suffered in two ways, for me. Firstly, it has done that thing that necessarily happens to tv shows, it moves from the concept to the characters. Personally, I missed the development of the profiling approach. They should have made more of the interviews and growth of BSU.

Secondly, I really, really didn't like the Brian/Nancy story line. It was so halfhearted. In season 1 I had the impression that Brian was recently adopted. In season 2 it was made out that he lived with them for most of his life, to shoehorn in the silly story line. Showing us the ripple effect of horrific murders was a good idea, but they didn't need to use Tench's family to do so.

(I read the book a year or so ago, and I find Holden and Tench far more likeable than the real guy puts himself across).

I think Holden plays a good part, as did Camille Bell, the mother/campaigner from Atlanta. Edward Kemper continues to steal every scene he's in.

Just finished season 2 and thought it was really interesting. I hope it's not too long until the next season. I knew I recognised Tench's wife and looked her up on imdb - she's from the UK version of The Office! Blast from the past!

I thought the different theme music in the final episode was super creepy. Same tune that is usually played on the piano but sung by choir boys instead. Chilling!

I have watched Season 1 & 2 over a few days! Loved it! Is there anything else similar to watch on Netflix?
