Anybody else looking forward to this tomorrow? I am but also pleased it’s the final one and not dragged out further.

I need to find a good recap of series 6 as I can’t remember much from it!

Just watched the first two episodes. I like the one thread per episode idea because I wont be watching any more until Sunday (unless I can sneak another 1 or 2 tomorrow afternoon), though appreciate this might be a bit much or each thread wont get much traffic etc. Unless we allow one episode per day or two to be discussed etc. That sounds a bit more confusing though.

RunningNinja79 · 26/07/2019 20:51

Nothing is turning out the way it should

That's the usual idea. I think that there will be a mixture of good endings and bad endings. Some will be unfair, some will be happy.

TheFirstOHN · 26/07/2019 21:08

I've started the thread for Episode 1

TheFirstOHN · 26/07/2019 21:12

I've also watched Episode 2 but will let someone else start the thread for that.

I've just finished it. Can someone please tell me who the man and baby banging saucepans at the end was?!

Overall I thought it was quite a realistic ending, some characters got their happy ending but many didn't. I have to say though I didn't care a jot about piper's story, I could have fast forwarded her scenes and not missed much.

That was Pornstache with Daya's and Bennett's baby. His mum adopted her.

I’ve watched it all. Was ok with the endings. Never liked piper/Alex so wasn’t invested in their story lines.

Maritza upset me but it’s what the current state is I guess. Red and Lornas storylines were also good but heartbreaking.

I have never heard of anyone who likes Piper as a character. She is almost universally disliked. I wonder if Piper Kerman is aware of this and takes it personally.

redexpat · 28/07/2019 20:26

I think Pipers story is quite informative though, on how hard it is to get back on your feet, how the odds are stacked against felons.

Xyzzzzz · 28/07/2019 20:55

I think piper started off likeable and then as they strayed away from the book and surpassed that she got worse as a fictional character IMO. Just selfish and whiny. Very self centred.

It was also quite sad to see Daya and Aleida story line just kept going round in circles, shows how generations can end up in the same cycle.

The book is quite good and the work Piper Kerman has done is admirable.

Just finished E5. Will probably take me another week or so at least to watch it all. Stupid work and family getting in my way Grin

CloserIAm2Fine · 29/07/2019 00:01

Loved it! I cried and bits of it hurt my heart. It would’ve felt wrong for the show if every single character had a wonderful happy ending though so it was always going to be a mixture.

I saw on twitter about the charitable fund they’ve set up which I think is brilliant, so good to try and bring some tangible good to the real world from a tv show

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 29/07/2019 08:43

I appreciate that there shouldn’t have been loads of happy endings

But i dont think there were many at all...and some endings were quite devastating

Anyway...i did still enjoy it and with out any spoilers i did enjoy seeing some faces I recognised and erm....how do i say this, the interaction between to Florida Residents Grin

Oh and definitely the nod to a popular character with fig and caputo

Christ that’s cryptic

Ulverstonian · 29/07/2019 18:59

I’m so looking forward to this! I loved it to start with, found it dragged a bit and am glad it’s finishing, but am looking forward to the final series too.

redexpat · 31/07/2019 20:24

I like how this series they refer to stuff that happened previously. Although I do have to keep googling backstories because I cant remember them.
