I'm going next month by myself 🙂.

Hopefully, the people on my left will think I'm with the people on my right, and vice versa. I'm looking forward to it, but I haven't watched the series yet - I wonder whether I should watch it before or after 🤔.

I went to cinema. It was brilliant
She can hold the audience so well. Her face is so expressive and the sound effects were very clever.
I loved it
I want to see One Man Two Governors but suspect I'm too late to get tickets.

It was astonishingly good. My heart broke for Hilary 😭

I went tonight to our local Light cinema - it was absolutely packed - they had to switch the escalator off as people were queuing on the escalator!

I enjoyed it - it is quite dark but I recognised a lot of the storylines from the first series. It’s in for just over an hour.

I went

I think PWB is amazing and I really enjoyed her guinea pig impressions
😂

I’m in awe of her physical comedy skills

I will say that without having seen the show, I might have been confused by the Claire and Martin sections, I can’t know for sure of course.

I thought it was very moving and funny. That said....if I hadn’t gone, I don’t feel,I’d have missed much? Even I had the money, the theatre prices would have been not worth it for me.

I was someone who was late to Fleabag though, and I must admit, if I’d watched it from the beginning I might not have stuck with it.

Things like “walk of shame, cough” are still really funny on stage!

RosaWaiting · 12/09/2019 23:05

I should clarify

If I’d seen it once a week, each episode, I don’t think I would have been too fussed. I heard about it when Kristin Scott Thomas was in it and knew a fair bit of story before I’d watched it. It’s definitely a binge watch I think.

Me! I can’t wait. Gin and fleabag. Bliss.

Just came in here hoping there'd be a thread. Just watched it at the cinema and I'm in awe of PWB. What a talent. From hilarity to pathos in moments. Very pleased I got a ticket but also thought that in some ways the cinema was the better option - such a good view of her facial expressions that you might have missed in the theatre. Saying that, I bet the theatre atmosphere is amazing.

“such a good view of her facial expressions that you might have missed in the theatre”

Yes, so true! And her face of Boo taking music seriously 😂 I have a horrible feeling I do that... .... also, her expression when being Claire. I wonder if that was in her original show and Sian Clifford had to copy it, or the other way round?

mrwalkensir · 12/09/2019 23:45

saw it tonight at the cinema - excellent - we're already taking it for granted

Goatrider · 13/09/2019 07:12

I've not seen a one person show before - I thought she was amazing.

It was interesting to see what made it into the TV show and what didn't.

I thought she was a bit different to the TV character. Couldn't quite put my finger on what it was, but there was something.

It was odd at the end, as felt like clapping!

bookworm14 · 13/09/2019 07:18

I saw it at the actual theatre last week thanks to my lovely SIL who offered me a ticket. It was brilliant. Phoebe W-B is a magnetic stage presence - it’s quite a feat to hold the audience’s attention by yourself for over an hour, but she manages it. It was much darker than the tv series though (if you can imagine such a thing). The bit with Hilary made the audience do a collective wince.

EleanorReally · 13/09/2019 07:59

Saw it yesterday,
What an absolute treat.
and agree, you also get the close ups in the cinema which might be difficult in theatre itself.
such a great evening.
