Do you still watch soaps?

I'm mid-40s. Growing up I watching Corrie, Eastenders, Neighbours, Home and Away, Hollyoaks. Over time I stopped watching for various reasons - in my 20s wasn't home from work in time, putting kids to bed. Then in 30s, if I did catch them I thought the storylines were often depressing or ridiculous. Also the concept seemed a bit dated. Out of a friendship/acquaintance group of 50, I would say I know 5 people who still tune in. Have soaps had their day with audiences until 40?

I still watch Corrie even though I think it's mostly crap these days. I think because I grew up with it, I feel like I should keep watching it, it's like an old friend that's started to get on your nerves but you stay in touch for old times sake!

Used to watch them all too. Eastenders used to be a firm favourite until the whole baby snatch thing many moons ago. I gave up on it then

I still watch EastEnders and Coronation St but they have both gone very bad especially Coronation Street I spend half the time cringing at the screen so it’s more just habit at this stage
