This is not Big Brother, its was too choreographed

BenWillbondsPants · 24/06/2019 11:41

Maura actually looks like she is about to burst out laughing.

Not when she tells him to piss off at the door, she doesn't.

FrustratedTeddyLamp · 24/06/2019 11:48

Just caught up on a few days episodes and whilst the comment Tom made was a complete twat of a comment, i think people are blowing it out of proportion. For one Maura shouted "somebody is getting frisky tonight" so i think that leads to a possibility that something will happen( whilst not committing to something she cant back out of).

I also see a lot of just "because she talks about sex doesn't mean she will have sex with everyone" thats true, but nobody said she did ( well the girls who i think were a lot worse), i do think man or woman if you constantly talk about sex you'll be perceived as more willing, and i think its to be expected( again not that anyone has to). If someone was in their and a big part of their personality was talking about chastity and no sex before marriage i think the public and who ever they go into the hideaway with has a clear inference that nothing will happen.
Ive seen women try and call mens bluff on stuff if they come across overly sexual. And i think men and women in groups do talk about people and sex that the other sex might be uncomfortable hearing and it feels in my experience that women talk more often about sexual/potential sexual partners look at MM calling Tommy " fuck material".

Basically if someone says they love baking, baking is all they talk about, they haven't baked in a while, get a chance to bake, insinuate they might bake, i think theres a reasonable expectation that they will and you can make a comment if theyre actually as keen of a baker as they say they are. Not the best analogy i know but i think it works on some levels

FrustratedTeddyLamp · 24/06/2019 11:50

I think the girls are worse, i think tom prefaced it but saying something like "im not taking it too seriously" the girls were saying she was gonna have sex tonight and as a group pressuring her saying she cant give all the talk and not deliver, more pressuring and telling her to tell tom to go into the hideaway as she has to do stuff to get ready and telling her to wear sexy stuff all after she indicated she didnt wanna have sex with him tonight as they'd only kissed 3 times. Im glad for Maura that the comment came as it gave her more of an out after being pressured by the girls and i think that the pressure from the girls already saying " after the way youve been talking you have to" it all compounded to her rightly being outraged but not necessarily at the right/ only person.

Louise0701 · 24/06/2019 11:53

Tom definitely repeated it for Maura to hear but I think he thought it was funny.
He’s such a try hard. He’s that guy in the group that’s never naturally been “one of the lads” so appears awkward and cringey. I doubt he has much experience with women relationship wise. Even the way he grabbed her face “well rate this” I was embarrassed for him! I think he assumed being a model would allow him to sail through but he’s got no banter & no game. He’s almost as awkward with women as doctor Alex last year. I hope he goes soon. And Yewande.

BenWillbondsPants · 24/06/2019 11:57

I think if he had said it in front of everyone and made it obvious it was a 'joke', she might not have been so bothered. I think it was because it was said to the boys in a kind of 'lets see if she's as easy as she makes out' nudge nudge wink wink way, that really pissed her off.

TenPercentGenius · 24/06/2019 11:58

Maura is probably my favourite LI contestant ever. I never knew someone so beautiful could be so refreshingly unselfconscious and unpolitical!!

Bluntness100 · 24/06/2019 11:59

If the boys are picking it is about who goes first. If Danny picks Arabella there is a fair chance Yewande will go home.

So

Michael amber
Curtis amy
Jordon Anna

Then it's all up for grabs and depends on order.

Danny Arabella or Yewande.
Anton lucie
Tom Maura or Arabella,

I suspect they will let Danny pick first, and he will pick Arabella. Anton will pick lucie, and then it will be down to Tom on whether Maura or Yewande go home.

I suspect Yewande is most at risk.

BenWillbondsPants · 24/06/2019 12:02

I think they'll have Danny pick last.

kenandbarbie · 24/06/2019 12:12

They won't want to risk losing Maura so there must be some plan, like they don't actually get dumped but it's casa amour then.

SlipperOrchid · 24/06/2019 12:14

I REALLY don’t think it will be down to Tom as to whether Mayra goes home. The producers will not let her go. They can’t let her go. She IS the show! They will tell Tom who to pick.

StreetwiseHercules · 24/06/2019 12:18

I think if Maura is really smart here, she makes a play for Anton. If Anton picks Maura and they develop into something they will he unstoppable.

AngeloMysterioso · 24/06/2019 12:18

Yewande is doing my head in. Acting like she’s suffered some huge betrayal from the love of her life when she was the one who ignored him for the best part of a week, whining that nobody wants her when it’s quite normal to go through life without everyone wanting you, sitting Danny and Arabella down to tell them off like naughty children and cutting them off with that weird noise whenever they tried to speak, insisting repeatedly that her friends hadn’t pushed her to be more demonstrative when that was exactly what had happened!

The Tom and Maura thing did feel a bit rehearsed. I mean who is dumb shit enough to say that not only when they know the whole thing is being televised, but when the woman you’re talking about is standing 10 feet from you?! Ah but it did set up the perfect cliffhanger didn’t it... hmmmm!

Darksideofthemoon19 · 24/06/2019 12:21

I’m so glad she told him to piss off. It’s very similar I think to when men see women wearing short revealing clothes and think they can pull them. Just because she talks about sex doesn’t mean she will sleep with anyone. It’s completely her choice.

Proteinshakesandtears · 24/06/2019 12:25

Joe is on this morning.

They asked him about the 'controlling' conversations with Lucie.

He explained it like he did on after sun. But word for word.

It's clearly a very practised and coached answer.

unique1986 · 24/06/2019 12:29

Joe seems less immature.
Obv been coached.
Also he looks like a woman.

unique1986 · 24/06/2019 12:30

I know everyone loves Kem but he looks so stupid.

FrustratedTeddyLamp · 24/06/2019 12:30

Darkside see i dont see this at all, unlike the revealing clothes example, i think talking about sex whilst not saying you'll have sex with anyone i think theres an assumption that you may be more up for it than someone talking about chastity a lot. She also said "somebodies getting frisky tonight" which leads to the possibility something may happen. Tom also said hes not taking it too seriously and i think the comment was more if something happens itll be interesting to see if she's as wild as she makes out. Not great for her to hear but ive heard women talk about men like that also a lot. I think the girls were more pressuring her into something because of the way she spoke.

unique1986 · 24/06/2019 12:31

His dress sense. And general image.

Bluntness100 · 24/06/2019 12:37

I don't think Maura and Tom was scripted, you'd have to be a fucking idiot to agree to that if you were Tom.

The producers have stated that the show is not scripted. It is directed. So they say why don't you have a chat with x about y or something. There is certain rules about it being scripted that has implications, I can't recall which.

There is no way it would be scripted fo Tom to say that for the simple reason of the back lash against Tom due to it. They aren't scripting so the contestants come out to being told they are sexist mysogynistic wankers,

That was all toms doing.

RozHuntleysStump · 24/06/2019 12:50

I don't believe it's scripted either. I do think there are 'nudges' and suggestions but not outright scripts. They aren't actors! Looking forward to tonight's show. I personally am really enjoying it this year.

If Maura goes home I will weep. I don't think she will though. Tom will have to pick her to make up for his behaviour!

Proteinshakesandtears · 24/06/2019 12:50

I think Tommy was told to take condom over and start a converstation about wether they would have sex.

Then I think they prompted Maura to go downstairs, to heat.

I dont think it was scripted but it was set up.

I think they often forget the cameras are there or assume the person they are speaking about wont find our as they are in there with them.

Proteinshakesandtears · 24/06/2019 12:52

To hear not heat.

unique1986 · 24/06/2019 12:53

Well they likely got Tom to go in the kitchen with the guys and talk and Maura and going in the hideaway.
Then got Maura to go find Tom...

unique1986 · 24/06/2019 12:55

It's just so stupid they tell them who to talk to.
