If I hated the first episode of Black Mirror

Would I like the rest?
I watched Season 1 episode 1 a while ago and I absolutely hated it. But I was wondering if the rest are complete different and I will like them? I really dislike the whole theme of that one, not my thing at all, but are all like that?

Each episode is a totally separate story and they all have different feels. Some feel much more futuristic than others, some are more realistic than others.

I don't know what series these are all in but my favourites are White Bear, Nosedive, Shut up and Dance, USS Callister, Hang the DJ and Black Museum.

It depends what kind of feel you want from an episode as to which you'd like.

Interested in this, OP - OH and I both watched one episode of Black Mirror (the PM/pig one - was that the first one?) and disliked it so much that we never watched any more. My brother keeps nagging me to give it another shot, he's a big fan and we usually have quite similar taste in TV.

I would recommend anyone to watch all of Black Mirror EXCEPT the PM/pig one! It made me feel ill.

I loved the SAN Junipero one too

Give a few a try they are different stories and feels. You will like some more than others but I like that about it.

The first one is really not like any other Black Mirror.

I thought the pig one was well acted and the story developed well. I just didn’t like the whole concept of the pig which was ludicrous. I wished they’d chosen a different humiliation for the pm.

I just didn't find any of it even vaguely credible. As DH said at the time, if it were to really happen there would be a six-word answer - "We do not negotiate with terrorists" - and that would have been the end of it. The idea of a world leader enduring that sort of public humiliation as a ransom is just... it would never happen.

Well they're not meant to be totally realistic. And yes they're all different OP, some absolute amazing episodes in there! My favourite is San Junipero.

I watched a couple of episodes and just couldn't get into it. Far too weird and random. Not really something I could get into.

I hated the first episode so much that I avoided it for years until I gave it another go and realised it's brilliant.
Don't love all the episodes, some fall flat, but none of them are like that first horrible episode. I've heard other people say the same so I've always thought it was a big mistake putting the pig episode on as their very first one.

I now don't like anything that Rory Kinnear is on as I can't break the association. Testament to what a good actor he is I suppose.

Highly recommend Black Mirror as some episodes are outstandingly good. Really clever and well written. Just either avoid the very first episode or block it from your mind and crack on with the rest of them.

They're all completely different.

If you're quite sensitive avoid White Bear and Crocodile.

Have a go at Hang the DJ and San Junipero.
