Black Mirror Season 5 Smithereens

White Bear is a great idea well executed, but I find it too emotionally exhausting to rewatch. Lenora Crichlow is sobbing, screaming and shouting for almost the whole episode and it's just too much for me! Of course, her emotional distress is the whole point of the story and we're supposed to feel sorry for her so we can have the rug pulled from under us when we find out what's really going on. But I really can't watch that bit at the end when she's having her mind wiped.

Yes, the realisation that she's gone through the whole thing day after day, and will continue to, is horrific. I don't think I could watch it again either. That episode stayed with me the most.

I adore Blackmirror but found this season really disappointing. As someone else said, they weren't very "Black mirror-y".

My faves are Black Museum, Playtest, Hang the DJ and Hated in the Nation

My favourite episode is White Christmas, but I like many of the episodes (from S1-4) mentioned on this thread.

What I want from an episode of Black Mirror:

• Thought-provoking.
• Unpredictable, or at least has a twist.
• Memorable.

Andrew Scott's performance was good, but otherwise these three recent episodes were dull, predictable and forgettable.

For anyone that hasn't watched all of them yet, The Guardian link up thread contains a lot of spoilers. also it's wrong because it puts the worst episode at number nine

My favourites are Nosedive and USS Callister.

This season has just been a bit "meh". Not really many new ideas, apart from Striking Vipers at a push.

Favourite episodes would have to be Hang the DJ and Hated in the Nation. Did not see the twist coming with either! The 2nd was so thought provoking, and the first super heartwarming.

I think this new season is rubbish, don't think I would bother again.
