Hail survivors of The Battle of Winterfell.

The 'mysterious' episode 4 premieres tonight.

Who will be with us at 2am?

I am desperate to find out if Arya's kill is openly discussed and acknowledged, or does Bran take the credit, or does it remain a mystery.

Given Emilia Clarke has said Episode 5 is the one for which we will need 'bigger television screens' what will lead up to it?

I'm not happy with one single thing that happened in that episode.
Livid about Ghost getting...ghosted
Uncomfortable with Jamie shagging Brienne
Sad about the dragon
Sad about Missandei (though predictable)
Wondering why Varys is only now really developing a conscience.
And if thats the last we see of Sam and Tormund I'm going to be mad.
And where is Gendry now? AGAIN.

lardass88 · 06/05/2019 10:15

Ok so why didn't dany used the dragon to burn the ships when she was flying and in front of the nutters massive bow and arrow?
And they were pisspoor just turning up and not expecting some sort of bloodshed.

Prequelle · 06/05/2019 10:17

Poor Rhaegal :(

SweetSummerchild · 06/05/2019 10:19

If Varys is all about the good of the realm shouldn’t he have been trying to oust Cersai yrs ago?

Show Varys was - he was in Essos from season 5 onwards in support of Daenerys. However, if he is ‘all for peace’, why would he try to recruit a conqueror on the basis that they have 3 big f-off dragons? It makes no sense. Book Varys has always been about trying to put Aegon/fAegon on the throne, but they did away with that storyline in favour of keeping Cersei as the main antagonist after the war for the dawn, so they had to do something with Varys.

Character development seems really forced in the mad rush to finish the series. There is no narrative reason at this point why Sansa should be so very anti-Daenerys. She should be logical enough to realise that Dany’s forces basically saved Winterfell (ok, let’s ignore the fact that the wall wouldn’t have fallen if it hadn’t been for Daenerys and operation wight-hunt). The writers have forced Sansa into this opposition role which just makes her look like a complete psycho.

Jon Snow really does know nothing. He can shout at dragons, ignore his direwolf and look moody, but that’s about it. Oh well, at least he can keep a secret for 3 episodes, unlike Sansa who can keep one for one scene.

Please bring back the night king. At the moment he is the one I want on the throne!

fancynancyclancy · 06/05/2019 10:19

I think Jamie is going to kill Cersei, he just positioned it like that so Brienne wouldn’t come to Kings Landing. Ooh maybe he was trying to protect Brienne. I wasn’t sure if he was off to save Cersai or kill her.

fancynancyclancy · 06/05/2019 10:22

Show Varys was - he was in Essos from season 5 onwards in support of Daenerys

Oh yeah I forgot about that.

Surely there has to be a secret way into Kings Landing?

SweetSummerchild · 06/05/2019 10:23

So, Sam is going to take over Hornhill and his liege lord is going to be Bronn?

Davos’ liege lord is going to be Gendry?

The realm really is f*cked. That wheel really is broken isn’t it?

Wow, no wonder the Hound was looking despondent.

QueenOfTheAndals · 06/05/2019 10:24

I thought it's been pretty obvious from the start that Jamie has to be the one who kills Cersei. Perhaps he'll find out that she's lying about the pregnancy. He won't be able to live without her either so I'm guessing he'll top himself immediately after doing the deed.

TheweewitchRoz · 06/05/2019 10:32

I really enjoyed the episode although gutted about Missandei and the dragon. I reckon Jamie will kill Cersei too - he's not going to protect her and he always seemed less bothered by their children than she did, so I don't think her being pregnant will be an issue for him.

Jaffacakebeast · 06/05/2019 10:37

.

Northernlurker · 06/05/2019 10:38

I did enjoy the 'we've survived the end of the world now lets get drunk and do very unwise things' party.

After that it was all well traumatic. Poor dragon. Jon is going to be gutted about that. I didn't think Ghost looks too bothered tbh. After all Jon shit him in a kennel for most of the last two seasons. Given the chance to head north rather than be ignored again I'd take that.

Sansa .....hmmm. Tbh she's my favourite, hope she survives. Missandei's death was another reminder that whilst everybody thinks the GOT is about men it's actually the women who suffer most.

Poor old Gendry, has he headed off to find his castle?

With a bit of Luck Ayra will take out Euron and use his face to throttle Cersei.

ElenadeClermont · 06/05/2019 10:40

Part of Jaime's character development in the books is that he starts to care about his children.

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 06/05/2019 10:44

Fucking hell. That twisted in every direction.

If someone doesn't kill Cersei I will be very, very, very pissed off. And Euron needs to go too. I'd quite like Yara to turn up and do that.

Did you notice the mention of Dorne? Like, oh yeah, we'd better put that in.

I reckon Jon will end up North of the Wall, reunited with Ghost, wandering like Uncle Benjen.

xsquared · 06/05/2019 10:51

I also think Jamie is going to kill Cersei and only spoke to Brienne the way he did to protect her.

Very sad about Rhaegal and I fear Danaerhys will end up like her father by shouting "burn them all!"

Did anyone else think that Drogon will come swooping up blasting a flame on the balcony, when Missandei said "dracarys"? It was an odd choice for last words.

Xyzzzzz · 06/05/2019 10:53

I think Dany will end up like her dad but the mad queen. She’s lost almost everyone. Jon will have to kill her same as Jamie will need to kill Cersei.

I’d love to see a happy ending with Dany and Jon but it doubt it will happen. If that’s the route they take with Dany I will be unhappy.

I love the development Arya has had and I can see her surviving. I don’t like Sansa as mentioned above they’ve made her and Dany enemies for no reason really. but I see her surviving along with bran.

onedayallthiswillbeyours · 06/05/2019 10:54

Like a PP said, I'm starting to feel a bit flat about this series. It feels so rushed and this is seriously compromising the authenticity of the story for me (yes, I realise how that sounds Blush). There is no way they would have rushed straight off to Kings Landing after that epic battle and all their losses and injuries at Winterfell. Even Dany would have wanted to take some time for her dragons to re-build their strength. It's not like Cersei is going anywhere is it?! And with all their combined battle and strategy experience they would have spent more than 5 minutes to plan their stupid attack. Instead they've rushed headlong into a disaster and lost more men, Missandei and yet another dragon.

I totally took Jamie's departure as him going off to kill Cersei but also that he probably thinks he will die doing so. Jaime does not feel that he deserves Brienne's love, he wants to atone for the bad things he has done and only then he will feel worthy of her. But then I read the other theory that he's gone off to join Cersei as that's who he really is, so now I just don't know...

I do feel a bit sorry for Dany, she really is all alone now. In fact, she is in exactly the same position now that her brother Viserys was in once she became the Khaleesi! Convinced she's the rightful monarch, but with no support or popularity, watching someone else get everything she wants with seemingly no effort!

FreedomFidgit · 06/05/2019 10:58

Did anyone else think that in the Dany and Jon conversation about his heritage and wanting to tell his family, that it sounded like Dany was actually threatening Sansa, Arya and Bran if Jon spilled the beans?
Am glad he did anyway, but I did think that sounded like a veiled threat from Dany.

Xyzzzzz · 06/05/2019 11:04

But Dany was right she knew it would come out and it did. Sansa told Tyrion. I can now see these two trying to get Jon on the throne. I wouldn’t be surprised if sansa double crosses Tyrion to take the throne.

agirlhasnonameX · 06/05/2019 11:17

I'm surprised more people didn't love that episode, I thought it was the most GoT feeling ep we've had since S5 (minus a couple of S6 episodes).

The only parts that bugged me where Jon not saying bye to Ghost- letting him go really was the kindest thing, but he could have given him a pat or at least had a tear. And Bronns scene seemed really rushed and just quite weird.

Don't mind Gendry getting Storms End- seems fitting as it became a Baratheon Castle in the first conquest and to a Baratheon that was rumoured to be a bastard. Don't know how Tyrion thinks he will give Highgarden to Bronn though.

I do feel for Dani, but she has always been a good liberator, conquer and revolutionary, not so great as a Queen. I would love her to go completely crazy and end up sitting on the throne after having burned the city, lost everyone she loves etc. I feel like Rhegal dying and Ghost leaving might mean Jon won't survive this.

AngeloMysterioso · 06/05/2019 11:17

I didn’t like the Jaime/Brienne story. I liked their dynamic before but they had to do the fan service thing of having sex and then reducing her to being just another woman cast aside after a few shags, crying over a bloke and pleading with him to stay with her. Brienne deserves better.

PreseaCombatir · 06/05/2019 11:18

I can totally see Sansa double crossing, well, anyone, for an independent north, but not ‘the’ throne.
Dany started out as my favourite character, and it’s sad that I now can’t wait for her to die.

agirlhasnonameX · 06/05/2019 11:28

I didn’t like the Jaime/Brienne story.
Yeh this too actually. I loved their chemistry all the way through the series, but think it was one of those romances that's better if never actually acted on. Plus I hated the way Jaime followed her and wanted to shag her right after he finds out she's a virgin, made him look like a right creep. I was really sad for her when he left. Never liked Jaime.

sweetkitty · 06/05/2019 11:31

Trailer for next episode gave nothing away.
Grey Work to die for sure bow avenging his love Sad
Don’t think Jon and Dany will both make it. It’s got to be one or the other. I did think Tyrion was a goner there with a archers that would have been a GoT moment.

Is Rhaegal really dead though? Lots of theories about his return next week.....
