Schitt's Creek - just glorious.
Dead To Me - dark, funny and with a great twisty turny plot. Christina Applegate is brilliant.

Ivy44 · 06/05/2019 13:28

Afterlife is great.

Orange is the new black
Happy Valley
Top of the Lake

ParadiseLaundry · 06/05/2019 13:52

Oh I love these threads! Lovesick sounds great. Going to give that a go!

Op - also agree with a few PPs - Travelers is great and so underrated.

Just hijacking this old thread still relatively new to Netflix looking for ideas similarly don’t like horror. Enjoyed;

The Crown
Designated survivor
Peaky blinders
The Handmaids tale

Anything else we might like?

ihavedefinitelygotthis · 26/12/2019 11:04

Binge watching Mad Men at the moment - loving it!

mrwalkensir · 26/12/2019 12:27

John Mulaney and The Sack Lunch Bunch - an hour of delight with added David Byrne

Namechange8471 · 26/12/2019 12:30

The good place
Glow (amazing!)
Stranger things
Dead to me
South Park
It’s always sunny in Philadelphia (also amazing!)

passthebucky · 26/12/2019 12:34

Ozark and don't fuck with cats.

UtterlyPerfectCartoonGiraffe · 26/12/2019 21:53

Also love Dead to Me and Russian Doll Smile

My latest favourite is Mindhunter, based on the true story of FBI’s first attempts at psychological profiling of serial killers. Amazing drama, great actors. The actors who play the serial killers look so similar to the real thing that it’s frightening, especially the actor who plays Ed Kemper Shock

Can’t wait to watch Bates Hotel next.

Crazy Ex Girlfriend! I can't believe no one has mentioned this ( I may have missed it).
Such a great watch. It starts funny but covers so many painful issues. Great characters. Not something I expected to like but I loved it.

FixItUpChappie · 01/01/2020 20:08

We are watching the Witcher and I wasn't sure at first but it's really coming together episode 3-4 and beyond.

Actually what helped is we accidentally started on episode 8 which was intriguing, though we couldn't really sort out what as going on.....I knew though that it was going to get somewhere interesting Grin

FixItUpChappie · 01/01/2020 20:09

Sorry I should read more carefully Witcher is not horror per se but it has lots of gory bits tbh

Dontsayyouloveme · 01/01/2020 20:15

Just binge watched Money Heist over the holidays. It’s Spanish but dubbed English however seriously don’t let that put you off as the show is so thrilling you barely even notice. S4 begins on April 3rd and don’t think I can wait

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 02/01/2020 03:05

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 02/01/2020 03:07

myohmywhatawonderfulday · 02/01/2020 18:53

Losers - its a great documentary series about people who came second in big events and what happened to them.
Salt, Acid, Fat, Heat ( or some combination of those things!) - The main presenter is so passionate about food
Dead to Me - A female led dark comedy which is 'can't stop watching'able
Magic for Humans
Documentaries: Dealt - a brilliant documentary film about a magician (do not let that put you off!)
Gaga: Five foot two
Misrepresentation/ The Masks We Wear ( a look at male/femaleness)
Maya Angelou and still I rise
Fyre

Then there is the classics: Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Homeland, House of Cards, Glow, The Good Place, Stranger Things, The Crown, Making a Murderer - start here if you haven't seen them. They are all exceceptional. Such great television.
