We have some lovely occasional posters who have lived in Korea, are Korean or have Korean partners/family members who pop in from time to time to provide the context for some of the more baffling cultural references.

We are generally fans of all things Korean, so equally happy to talk about Korean cookery, film and kpop when the mood takes us. To get to grips with the lingo, try dramaloveaddicts.proboards.com/thread/24/korean-word-day?page=1

We have a few frequently used acronyms:
FL/2FL = female lead/2nd female lead
ML/2ML = male lead/2nd male lead
SLS = Second Lead Syndrome (where the FL/MLis too thick to realise how much better the 2ML/2FL is)

We also abbreviate titles if they’re long, but usually only after using the full title & acronym together. Some of the regular favourite actors have been abbreviated too for speed/efficiency, although “him off Black” seems to have stuck for Song Seung-Heon. Don’t be afraid to ask for help/clues if we’re not making sense or have descended into acronym soup.

I misread that as Mambopop at first 😆

I have a couple of tracks with Cantonese vocals thanks to Spotify, but generally I much prefer the timbre of the Korean language

Squeeee! I don't know about Bea but I am super-excited, and a bit pissed off I'm not actually in London next weekend so def. need vicarious up dates.

Anyone know when they are performing on BGT? I might have to actually watch though normally avoid it.

So reporting back from my weekend of KJW & JKH....

Amor Fati - Amazon Prime quiet film impressed with JKH sensitive acting
Fasten Your Seatbelt (possible boobage site)- comedy film impressed with JKH comedy acting
Smile You Viki - rather cheesy soapy early kdrama with adorable babyfaced JKH - now on 2nd ep with wine & has improved
Ghost - Dramafast - KJW hot priest - quality all round
Antique trailer - keep watching this for KJW in man bun making cakes

Have also watched first hour of Secret Life of my Secretary but can't make my mind up on it yet.

Oh and I have done lots of work & gardening & RL stuff this wkend

My weekend has been a bust for kdrama. The DVD player here is stooopid. The Netflix in the cottage needs training to give me good suggestions - it suggested One Spring Night this morning from a standing start on Friday night, so it should be just right by the end of the week (when we leave). 🙄 We’ve been so energetic so far, I keep falling asleep watching Viki on my phone on the evenings. We are also getting intermittent power outages, which mean the router/wifi has to reboot every time it winks out. I am making painfully slow progress with Life on Mars. Basically, I need more caffeine like when I’m in work. I am horizontally relaxed and well slept though, so I should be in fighting form for my KJW/JKH marathon once I’m back home.

Scrub that! Evening (and then some!) lost to Absolute Boyfriend which is such perfect fluff, but horribly addictive. Robot guy can come round to our place any time - we have plenty of dust and failing appliances to keep him busy. DH might not be best pleased about the whole puppydog beefcake thing, but he’d love to get the clutter sorted.

Dh thinks I've gone completely mad!... Regardless of my fangirling.... I just think its going to be an amazing atmosphere and spectacle... From the reviews I've read from the US... It's the most diverse audience ever.. Race... Gender... Ethnicity.. Age!... 😁😁😁😁💜

Up to the end of ep 6 of Absolute Boyfriend on Viki and I can't decide which ML she will end up with as it looks like the actor bloke is on a redemption journey . Mind you this being kdrama the rules are it will probably be the one she kisses first (although after 7 yrs you'd think she'd dtd with the other guy)
