We have some lovely occasional posters who have lived in Korea, are Korean or have Korean partners/family members who pop in from time to time to provide the context for some of the more baffling cultural references.

We are generally fans of all things Korean, so equally happy to talk about Korean cookery, film and kpop when the mood takes us. To get to grips with the lingo, try dramaloveaddicts.proboards.com/thread/24/korean-word-day?page=1

We have a few frequently used acronyms:
FL/2FL = female lead/2nd female lead
ML/2ML = male lead/2nd male lead
SLS = Second Lead Syndrome (where the FL/MLis too thick to realise how much better the 2ML/2FL is)

We also abbreviate titles if they’re long, but usually only after using the full title & acronym together. Some of the regular favourite actors have been abbreviated too for speed/efficiency, although “him off Black” seems to have stuck for Song Seung-Heon. Don’t be afraid to ask for help/clues if we’re not making sense or have descended into acronym soup.

I know! It’s niche, but we’re not the only middle aged women out there fangirling. I found the comments strangely reassuring, especially the woman who said she spent some of her holiday in Seoul hanging around outside an agency just in case. 😂

As in, we’re a bit k-bonkers but we’ve got some way to go.

I don't think my family would be that riveted by a tour of the kdrama filming locations which would be on my Seoul trip list

I’ve realised that could tick a fair few off just from that holiday intinerary I posted a while ago. The lovers’ padlock fence from Korean Odyssey is at Namsang Tower and I reckon that there will be a few more too. I’m sure the Korean folk museum/village will have been used in period dramas. I reckon there would be lots of familiar sights.

But I was coming on to ask if Tae Hoe ever properly speaks in Legend. He’s almost completely mute so far, with expressive eyebrows.

Someone on viki was arguing that Ryan was an Anglicisation of Ri Ahn and that Ryan and Si Ahn are brothers. Jusrlt starting ep 12 now, so that may already have been blown out of the water. 🤷‍♂️

So, a few random thoughts on ep 12:

I already don't like Si An's mother

The kids in the flashback are all wearing knitted jumpers

Was expecting a chance revelation at the orphanage about his adoption/dumping but again writers didn't take obvious route it was just sweet.

Does HH KJW shave his legs? V smooth

Re Legend that's the gag about Tae Ho - he never says anything!

Legend... I love Tae Ho and his very expressive eyes.... it makes it all the more funnier when he says something! His storyline is very cute in Legend... I really liked Legend...

HPL... 15 mins into HPL Ep 11 and HH KJW is undeniably smooth.... (not in the shaved legs way!) ... the unbuttoning of the shirt!!!! ... also thought it was a bit saucy for kdrama... have had to stop though... got things to do... will catch up later!
HPL is very very well done.... good pace, fine acting, good comedy .... HH KJW is not my exact cup of tea... but i can see it and am drawn in!

Caught up a little on Confession last night upto ep6.... it really is good and am desperate to skippitydohdah to find out how it all turn out .... but am resisting the urge... the bonus of watching on the non boobage site is that it makes it much more cumbersome to skip around so it's probably good for me....

Also started watching City Hunter with Lee Min Ho and PMY on the non boobage site... it looks great fun... almost like an early Healer without the fine knitwear and good hair... does look a little dated (2011 i think) but I'm deffo sticking with it...

Bea - Have you seen Coffee Prince? HH KJW is seriously hawt in that, but not on screen nearly enough.

I am seeing good comments about KJW in Antique (film) on the Viki talkboard. Shall investigate.

Just noting for the record that KJW’s beautiful face is not matched by his hands, which are kind of ordinary. JKH and Ji Sub in a tub definitely win in the beautiful hands stakes, plus that young doctor fella off Hospital Ship.

Just caught up on HPL... 😱😱... Though not surprised! These kdramas 'ey?... And their amazing coincidences! 😂 😂

What to watch now?... Coffee Prince on the list!... But may lose myself in Junhos lovely eyes in Confession!... 😍
