We have some lovely occasional posters who have lived in Korea, are Korean or have Korean partners/family members who pop in from time to time to provide the context for some of the more baffling cultural references.

We are generally fans of all things Korean, so equally happy to talk about Korean cookery, film and kpop when the mood takes us. To get to grips with the lingo, try dramaloveaddicts.proboards.com/thread/24/korean-word-day?page=1

We have a few frequently used acronyms:
FL/2FL = female lead/2nd female lead
ML/2ML = male lead/2nd male lead
SLS = Second Lead Syndrome (where the FL/MLis too thick to realise how much better the 2ML/2FL is)

We also abbreviate titles if they’re long, but usually only after using the full title & acronym together. Some of the regular favourite actors have been abbreviated too for speed/efficiency, although “him off Black” seems to have stuck for Song Seung-Heon. Don’t be afraid to ask for help/clues if we’re not making sense or have descended into acronym soup.

I always wonder at the fashion in kdramas... Do the people in Seoul really go around in pastel pink cashmere coats.. And is it a common site for the men to be wearing lime green angora jumpers.??
I loved Legend from the get go!... I loved all the heists etc... So I think its deffo worth sticking with boatyard!..

I've been doing the same as you, keeping a note separately, or in this case keeping a tab open to remind me. I have a busy day ahead but think I might start The Guest tonight. Also need to finish Missing Nine.

Bea so glad you liked Legends! Boatyard it is worth sticking with for when you fancy a bit of fluff. Plus it is the only thing I have ever liked Lee Min Ho in. And it has a nice cameo by Jo Jung Suk

What is it with all these celebrities and their cute fluffy dogs?!...
And... Do they celebrities have any romance in their lives? Or are they just kept top top secret? 🤔🤔🤔... I'm obviously volunteering myself for the romantical duties of course! 😁

I get the impression their agencies issue them with social media guidance. Floofy dogs, kittens, sunsets and hanging out with crew or posing in front of gifted coffee trucks are on the ‘approved’ list. Girlfriends/boyfriends, parties, drunken selfies, political rallies and snorting coke off hookers are on the ‘not approved’ list. Also, some of their fans are properly obsessive, so they no doubt have to tread carefully. I liked the fan posting under one of JKH’s Spanish camino trail pics asking where he was that day. As if he’d answer!

I’m a bit Marmite about Lee Min Ho, so vacillating at the mo. Now the mermaid’s talking, I quite like her gruffer voice. That scene where she stayed up all night watching kdrama and Lee Min Ho found her strung out with bags under her eyes the next morning made me laugh - it’s us!

Lee Min Ho definitely not on my pub invite list, by the way.

I love the laughs at the Kdrama... there's some more funnier biys coming up! It allgets a bit meta (if I'm using the term correctly!!!

Oh Lee Min Ho might be on my list.... I think I might have to hire out the Snug in the bar for my own little pub get together and we can meet in the main bar for Grr JCW!

Lee Min Ho not on my pub list either....he's the guy that would have had a fawning crowd around him at the student union bar. ..... or maybe that's just 'cos he still has the Boys Over Flowers vibe

I haven’t seen Boys over Flowers, so my assessment is based solely on 2 episodes of Legend. I just don’t get a good vibe from him.

Warning: I've only seen the first half hour of The Guest but it's pretty dark & gruesome!

Came across this Viki YouTube interview with KJW earlier (subbed) which makes me like KJW even more. He seems quite reserved and a little shy. I was right about his cat too - he says the pecking order in his house is him, the cat and then the dog. I like that he won’t commit to being only a cat person or a dog person.
