Apologies if there is a there is a thread but I looked and couldn't see one.
I missed the show last week as I was at the GN. Recorded it. Thought the GB was OK but not all the raving...
Looking forward to seeing Susan Boyle tonight... ♥

Yes, Platypus, so Zeus was Kronos’ son and Zeus’s mother ran off to hide then Zeus came back, cut open Kronos and Poseidon and Hades we’re inside - so says my 12 year old son.

OddCat · 11/05/2019 20:40

This is very sweet and he'll obviously go through but ....

Piggywaspushed · 11/05/2019 20:41

It was Cronus who ate his children but Kronos is definitely an old school Doctor Who baddie.

ThePlatypusAlwaysTriumphs · 11/05/2019 20:41

Thought so, rhubarb! Not sure what he has to do with women's rights!
Why are they showing this? I know it's meant to tug at our heartstrings, but I'm finding it uncomfortable

Elderflower14 · 11/05/2019 20:43

This has made me cry!!!

I did not get the Suffragette thing : I didn't hear what they shouted and I didn't know what they had in their hands at the end. It was shit, wasn't it? I did not feel empowered.

FannyFeatures · 11/05/2019 20:44

I really miss when there were actual variety acts on BGT, the ones where you could have a laugh or were genuinely original.

Every episode is now filled with overrated singers, sob stories and street dancers. It's all so samey and predictable.

ThePlatypusAlwaysTriumphs · 11/05/2019 20:45

I'm renowned in our house for crying at BGT in years gone by, but not one tear this year so far.

Piggywaspushed · 11/05/2019 20:46

I am afraid playing me the music form Up only works in terms of sobbing if I am actually watching Up.

FannyFeatures · 11/05/2019 20:48

Piggy, I didn't get it either.

Other than wearing a sash and waving a (pressumably) voting slip it had naff all to do with suffragettes or being empowered 🙄

cricketmum84 · 11/05/2019 20:48

Running a few mins behind but I thought the all female dance troupe were shit.

No idea what the "great message and great energy" were. Utter bollocks.

ThePlatypusAlwaysTriumphs · 11/05/2019 20:49

Yep, piggy I feel like I'm being manipulated to cry these days! The sob stories are really shoved down your throat with dad and emotive background music. It feels so set up!

ThePlatypusAlwaysTriumphs · 11/05/2019 20:50

Please let this be different!

OddCat · 11/05/2019 20:51

I found the suffragette thing slightly condescending, not sure if that's the right word but it made me feel Cross Confused

PJMasksAreOnTheirWay · 11/05/2019 20:52

Totally don’t get that at all.

PJMasksAreOnTheirWay · 11/05/2019 20:52

About the statues I mean.

RhubarbIsEvil · 11/05/2019 20:52

I wanted them to sing a mush sing a mush can they do the fandango?

ThePlatypusAlwaysTriumphs · 11/05/2019 20:54

Have they never been to the Edinburgh fringe?? Loads of "statues" coming to life in the Royal mile!

FannyFeatures · 11/05/2019 20:54

That was bizarre and not particularly entertaining either 😕

OddCat · 11/05/2019 20:54

Not more bloody magic

AtSea1979 · 11/05/2019 20:54

Not keen on the random black and white stuff, it’s getting boring now

ThePlatypusAlwaysTriumphs · 11/05/2019 20:55

I KNEW he w as going to be another magician. I await my transportation

FannyFeatures · 11/05/2019 20:55

When did it become a thing to film the audience??

Piggywaspushed · 11/05/2019 20:57

The magician has scary eyes.
