Late to the party here. I was going to post a thread saying what a load of crap BGT is this year, but I see there is a thread already!
I am so upset to see BGT turn to shit. It's the worst series of the lot, with nothing but poor, naff, pathetic acts, OR acts who are already professionals. Also, don't even get me started on the sob stories and the 'try and pull at the nation's heartstrings' acts.
First the soldier/magician, then the peoples choir, then the man who told us about his battle with cancer, and now the sob story with the brave dog.
The man's act was lame and very short, and then we were subjected to a 5 minute video of his dog's bravery. All very moving and sad, but what is the point? This is a talent show - not a sob story show. I am sick of it now.
What happened to the raw acts like Subo, Stavros Flatley, Connie Talbot, Paul Potts, and the really good impressionists? It's all contrived shite now.
People who have already been on TV representing their country, people who have been on TV in established programmes, (already with equity cards!) people who already have wikipedia pages and agents, and people who are really shit (but are being put through anyway!)
This may be the last BGT I watch. In fact, I don't know if I will even carry on watching THIS one, because there isn't a single act that I care about. Seriously..........
