NOWTV/Sky Entertainment - what’s worth watching apart from GOT

LindsayDentonsFringe · 11/04/2019 17:14

I’ve forked out my tenner to subscribe to Now TV during Game Of Thrones series 8 (which I’m happy to do, because it should be a solid tenner’s worth of entertainment). Is there anything else worth watching while I’ve got the pass?
Last time I did this I watched literally nothing else because there simply wasn’t a single other thing I fancied. Is there anything worth checking out now? Lucifer???

I am totally obsessed with Madam Secretary! Random choice and not my usual thing but I am loving it!

The whole of Grays Anatomy is on there too. And I ask think Scandal is ok to pass the time - although not totally amazing.

I came on to this topic to ask exactly the same question, and then saw you'd already asked it.

We've been watching Lost as I didn't have sky when it was on originally so only ever saw series 1 and 2. I've someone managed to avoid spoilers ever since!

CatToddlerUprising · 11/04/2019 22:16

Madam Secretary, Greys Anatomy, The Sopranos, Law and Order. So many!

LindsayDentonsFringe · 11/04/2019 22:23

I don’t think I have the time to commit to something huge like The Sopranos or Grays in the next 2 months given that it’s already Game of Thrones, Line of Duty and Star Trek Discovery season.

Might give Veep or Westworld a go??

Handmaids tale...? Fantastic, my fave thing on there.

LindsayDentonsFringe · 11/04/2019 22:28

Madame Secretary looks interesting, thanks: I’ll give anything with Bebe Neuwith a shot.

Not emotionally strong enough for Handmaid’s Tale.

I'm also going to give Madam Secretary a go.

sugarcubed · 11/04/2019 22:34

I thought Westworld was slow and a bit weird. Really disappointed as had high hopes for it. Maybe try something else.
Ray Donovan is good.

waltzingparrot · 11/04/2019 22:38

Portrait Artist of the Year if you like art. You probably meant dramas though..... Grin

LindsayDentonsFringe · 11/04/2019 22:48

Not necessarily drama, no, anything that’s unique to Sky and worthwhile. With Netflix and iPlayer and All4 there’s always lots of stuff on, but wanted to check if there’s anything that I really should take the opportunity to watch while I can.

I loved Westworld. So complex and interesting and a great cast. If you can follow GoT then you should be able to follow Westworld.

MockerstheFeManist · 12/04/2019 16:26

Westworld S1 is possibly the greatest TV Show ever made. GoT for grown-ups.

The Orville is a really clever Star Trek parody.

I like Sirens, bonkers man-eating fish-girl.

LindsayDentonsFringe · 12/04/2019 18:01

The impression I’ve got is that Westworld series 1 is great but you’re best off leaving it at that. Is that right? Because that sounds ideal.

OP posts:
MockerstheFeManist · 12/04/2019 20:14

Perhaps. S2 is a bit lost, everyone wandering around wondering who they are and what they're meant to be doing. Fine performances from Rachel Leigh Cook and Thandie Thnewton, but otherwise not a lot of point.

MockerstheFeManist · 12/04/2019 20:19

....Rachel Evans Wood or whatever she is at home.

midsomermurderess · 16/04/2019 20:31

Get Shorty; Westworld.
