From the trailer for next week’s episode it looks as though it may actually cover the family who were living there when I was a child - I really hope so.

That will be so interesting!

My friend is the 'house historian' whose research is used a lot in these programmes. She gets commissioned to research the history of people's houses. I think it sounds like a great job.

I find it interesting, that it's had a lot of financially independent women living there.

Isitmybathtime that sounds like a dream job.

The square has had a lot of interesting people live there through time - there are a number of blue plaques. George Stephenson lived there, anti slavery activists who hid escaped slaves and Mo Mowlam rented my grandmother’s house for a period - she was friends with my parents, spent quite a lot of time in our house and made a huge impact on me as a child.

isitmybathtimeyet I'd love that job! My little Victorian terrace was built in 1887 ish and I've managed to trace the families who lived here (only 5 fortunately). Now I want to find out more about them so will be knee deep in old newspapers at the local library.

Just caught up with the 3rd ep about the Igels/Eagle.

Heartbreaking!

In German Igel (hedgehog) is pronounced similarly to Eagle.

Can't remember the nationality they were.

But it would make sense for Igel to become Eagle if they sounded similar.

Great show. I tried to research the history of my parents victorian house but there was just nothing. When I looked at the old electoral roll everyone of the neighbours details were logged apart from my parents house which was left blank that year.

Really enjoyed this series. Can't begin to imagine the months and months of research that goes into this sort of programme. Fascinating though; hope they do a third.

Another great series, hope they do more.
