Advert exploding gremlin !

has anyone seen the advert for get rid of your reading writing gremlins where one explodes!
It was on at 7.15pm the other night & scared my 2yr old to death............she ran away screaming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does anyone else think this is an awful advert and should be shown after 9pm ?

Linnie - dh and I saw this last night but it was after 9pm and I commented on how gross it was then. I'm gobsmacked they can show this before the watershed, it's awful. I certainly wouldn't want my 2yr old ds to see it - it would scare him too.

I've not seen the exploding one but I didn't like the one where one is shown squashed at the bottom of someone's shoe with gunk oozing out of it. Ewww!

did think about complianing to the itc as at least you can police the tv programs they see but not the adverts !...........I think the whole series of adds are awful and not suitable for before the watershed...........I'm no prude or anything but if I find the gremlins revolting then I'm sure young children find them very scary!

I've seen it on in the mid morning! I found it gross but ds1 aged 4 thought it was funny. I too agree it should be on a little later. Have you seen the one where the man squashes it with his shoe (same bloody gremlin) my son too thought it was hysterical when I found it horrifying.

yes where it goes small..........I have seen that one............do you know what they advertise though!........hey good advert we are talking about it but I couldnt tell you what it advertises

I think it's the Government - some programme or bit of the learning and skills council or something similar. Really aimed at non-literate adults so why show it when kids will be watching?

My Dd1 was a bit scared of it oo and she is 6.5

I recently complained to channel 5 because during a movie out takes programme on at 7:30pm they showed 2 clips from Nightmare on Elm Street.
My Dd1 was terrified and I spent all night going in and out to her as she was having nightmares.

Can't believe some people can be so irresponsible.

I got a snotty reply back saying that my compliant had been forwarded to someone.

did you complain to the itc or to channel 5?

You can bet that because I need the details to complain to the itc that I wont see the ad again for ages.

It's a bit like that ad where the man puked up the dog (ad for mints I think!) so many people complained that they found it offensive that it got banned even after the watershed.

I also thought about complaining - I haven't seen the exploding one, but just the normal gremlin ones are scary, even for me! I find they are normally on during Countdown, which if someone can't read or write, is going to be the last programme they are going to watch??

We'll have to set up a 'Gremlin Police', First person to spot which advert it is, so we can all take action.

Good idea lets get this c**p off the tv !

I haven't seen the exploding one but I hated the old ones where they just lurk about and upset people. But according to that piece they did the trick for a lot of people with literacy problems...

cheers thanks for that......... i would be happy with them just moving the ads to after 9pm.
they just seem to be coming up with more and more exstream ads from throwing one in a skip to squashing one under a shoe to having one explode what ever could they think of next.........
