As I said Helen come over to the Trans Widows thread where there's lots of women who've been in similar situation. (Including me).

Trans Widows Escape Committee 2- The Trans Widows Strike Back.. www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3471122-trans-widows-escape-committee-2-the-trans-widows-strike-back#83894991

Helen31a I'm so sorry to hear that. How awful for all of you.

Italiangreyhound · 19/02/2019 21:57

There is another thread about the Making of Me in the feminism section, in feminist chat. Just do you know Helen31a.

purpleme12 · 24/02/2019 00:32

I felt really bad for Marie. Wonder if they'll make it as a couple. I thought they'd split up at the end

Interesting to watch Jay
I guess that's why they doctor refused the hormones to Emma because this kind of thing does happen so you never know

SosigisAndCornflourSauce · 25/02/2019 22:45

@Helen31a - are you the lady with blonde hair married to the great haired chap?

Cadanita1 · 25/02/2019 23:57

I was Helen31a. I'm not the blond in the program. He destroyed me and our family. He hasn't even told his children yet.

purpleme12 · 27/02/2019 20:31

Quite an interesting episode this week. Some different cases

Italiangreyhound · 27/02/2019 20:44

I did really warm to Andy, he totally looked different. He seemed so happy and when he found friends in the other two trans men, I was pleased for him.

purpleme12 · 27/02/2019 21:00

Yeah I agree

WheresThatCatGoneNow · 28/02/2019 23:00

Brooke (from the Lancashire farm) looked amazing after the New York stylist did her make up! Her hair always let her down until she had the extensions put in.

If you ever read this, Brooke, you're a beautiful girl. And your Dad and sister are absolute stars!

HollowTalk · 02/03/2019 11:49

Brooke made me laugh, actually, she fitted the lazy teenage boy stereotype so well. Her sister was running around arranging everything (she was an amazing young woman - such a huge support) where Brooke just sat sulking. It was only when make up and extensions were on that she could see how she could look female.

@Cadanita1 Everything you say about your husband rings true - he looked like exactly the kind of nightmare described on the Transwidows threads.

HollowTalk he's so affected, so fake.

Italiangreyhound · 02/03/2019 20:37

I felt that Brooke, like Emma the week before, was a bit of a dark horse. At first I couldn't see how they cook look feminine but by the end they did. I felt Brooke had a real transformation.

Italiangreyhound · 02/03/2019 20:39

they could look feminine...

SosigisAndCornflourSauce · 03/03/2019 08:23

@Cadanita1

I really didn't warm to him, he personified the word narcissist!

I hope the programme might burst the boil and once you and your children deal with the fallout you can move on 😊

HighestMountains · 07/03/2019 12:46

I watched some of the first episode last night. Was surprised that both Cairo and Jackie said they didn't realise they were trans until they were 20s and 50s (or 40s?) respectively. When I saw docus about trans people made 10+ years ago people talked about knowing they were trans from a very young age.

Italiangreyhound · 07/03/2019 14:46

HighestMountains yes, that struck me too. Very telling IMHO.
