Hope it's OK for me to start a new thread - could not believe we'd burned out on the last one.

Am looking forward to seeing highlights of the Fed/Tits match later.

The little girl has beautiful blue eyes.

Aww Petra

Raahh · 26/01/2019 11:29

Now, listen to that Naomi.

I love her.

Raahh · 26/01/2019 11:30

She always says such sweet things.

mama1980 · 26/01/2019 11:34

Lovely sweet speeches there from them both.
Good to see them chatting at the photos as well.

Raahh · 26/01/2019 11:35

Right - I have agreed to go to the football. I suppose I need to get dressed for that Grin.

JaneJeffer · 26/01/2019 11:36

She's so humble.

PrivateParkin · 26/01/2019 11:47

That was such a good match, really enjoyed it. Really pleased for Naomi - and hope Petra can win another Slam this year.

PrivateParkin · 26/01/2019 11:55

Also, can I just say that AO women's trophy is the nicest in tennis - I love it.

kazzaD66 · 26/01/2019 15:15

Well, who knew? There is an upside to going to the inlaws. They have BT Sport, which includes Eurosport, and they recorded the final for me! Watching it back now. Good close match. Of course, that means I can watch the men's final live tomorrow morning! Tennis Tennis Grin

magimedi · 26/01/2019 17:14

In laws are wonderful kazza

Great match, still wanted Petra to win but I do like Naiomi.

Rafa in 3 tomorrow, please!

Does anyone know what time UK time the men's final is on tomorrow please?

PrivateParkin · 26/01/2019 17:41

Wittow it says "from 8am" - play starts at about 8.30ish.

PrivateParkin · 26/01/2019 17:44

Well done kazza's in-laws! Tennis

I realised as the match played out today that I wanted Petra to win more, even though Naomi was great and deserved to win in the end. Plus she made such a lovely speech - for a 21 year old to have the maturity to speak like that after such a huge match - I thought it was great. Pleased she got her moment. And Petra should be very proud of herself! It was quite a feel-good match Smile

JaneJeffer · 26/01/2019 17:54

Nice one kazza

Private I felt the same during the match that I was rooting more for Petra but I'm glad for Naomi after Serena the shite!

Just back from Tesco. Bloody freezing. Was going to go to Gaelic match but chickened our due to weather. DH and DS1 have braved the elements and gone.

Raahh · 26/01/2019 18:10

I'm glad I went to dd1's match- she got girl of the match for a brilliant save. She also both the ball in her face twice, and head butted an opponent by accident ( the opponent was huge in comparison too).
Her face is a bit of a mess. She looks like she's gone 10 rounds with Tyson. Grin

JaneJeffer · 26/01/2019 18:14

Well done her! DS2 is forever injured as he plays soccer and Gaelic. I sometimes wonder if it's good or not but he enjoys it.

PrivateParkin · 26/01/2019 18:20

They sound brave Jane. I'd rather be on the couch watching tennis players sweat it out in 40°C Grin

Raahh · 26/01/2019 18:29

Jane I think Dd1 enjoys it (she's a moody 12 year old, it's sometimes hard to tell Grin).

PrivateParkin · 26/01/2019 19:46

My phone is being weird and not updating the thread properly Hmm Or is it just me not looking properly?! Grin

Raahh well done your DD! She sounds brave as well!

My DSis just asked us for lunch tomorrow - luckily she loves tennis, so if the match isn't over by then she will have the TV on anyway. So I think it's safe to accept the invite...

Wittow · 26/01/2019 20:20

Private oooh not toooo early for a Sunday morning, can't wait! Vamos Rafa!!!!!

Raahh · 26/01/2019 22:16

I am sooooo excited and nervous for tomorrow. I'm like a 5 year old on Christmas eve. Grin

So-10 years since Rafa won VAMOS.

The rest of the year went a bit wonky- but he did win Indian Wells, iirc, and had come off 2008, the year he really broke through and made number 1. Was hardly a surprise his knees started to give way later on!

Raahh · 26/01/2019 22:17

(and his parents split up in 2009- it wasn't Rafa's best year, emotionally, really.).

JaneJeffer · 26/01/2019 22:57

DH is working tomorrow. I asked him what time he's getting up. He said are you getting up to make me breakfast and I said no I'm getting up to see Rafa. Wife of the year, me.

Quantumblue · 27/01/2019 08:01

A beautiful evening in Melbourne - we have had dinner and settling on the couch for the evening. Go Rafa.

Raahh · 27/01/2019 08:17

Evening Quantum

Morning Jane Grin
