Hope it's OK for me to start a new thread - could not believe we'd burned out on the last one.

Am looking forward to seeing highlights of the Fed/Tits match later.

Oh God I'm going to have to start my nervous cleaning now. At least the house will benefit from a Rafa/Djok final.

Fizzywinegum · 25/01/2019 11:23

Didn’t bother watching the match in the end although the adverts sounded interesting - I quite like the yoga/ motorcycling one! I was wondering about academic singles - would my maths cse level 4 or whatever it was count?

I agree that the men’s semis have been disappointing - the final should be good but hopefully not too exciting (feeling nervous already) - Rafa seems really up for it and I don’t really believe in the half dead/ill Djokovic. Don’t think I could cope with a super tie break in the fifth set though.

I really enjoyed listening to Goran on the tennis podcast - strictly come dancing was mentioned again - where did that rumour come from? They’re going to start a campaign. Goran on strictly would be ace Smile

Raahh · 25/01/2019 13:09

I ended up nodding off Blush and then had to walk the dog.

Fizzy I listened to Radio 6 live during Wimbledon/school runs a couple of years back and he was on that. They were talking about it then. Grin I would love to see him on. It would be brilliant. Can he dance though? Not sure I care- I'd just love to see it!

Raahh · 25/01/2019 13:11

The idea of a 5th set super tie break makes me feel ill[ grin].

Nope, Rafa in 3- close-ish, sets, if he must.
Thank you.

And we'll have no roof shenanigans, either.

Raahh · 25/01/2019 13:11

Radio 5 live Grin

PrivateParkin · 25/01/2019 14:12

Oh no not nervous cleaning! Three close sets sounds good. I'm hoping for two good finals, tomorrow and Sunday.

I'd love to see Goran on Strictly - I don't normally watch it, but I'd definitely tune in if he was on. He didn't sound too keen on the idea though!

Raahh · 25/01/2019 15:03

I don't do cleaning, nervous or otherwise. I wish I did. I could use the motivation.

Grin

I do 'nervous sitting on the stairs' or following the dog round the garden at the change of ends, muttering like Murray.

in theory, it is when I would be doing the ironing - but I fear for dh's shirts. Grin( especially after last week!).

Raahh · 25/01/2019 15:09

dh wants to know why I'm not going to watch dd1 play football tomorrow, since it's only the women's final. I don't watch the women apparently. Grin ( true, most of the time, but if there's nothing else....).

He knows nothing.

And it will be a great women's final, just as last year's was. So much at stake for both of them.

PrivateParkin · 25/01/2019 15:10

Grin at you muttering like Murray!

I've entered that weird Grand Slam twilight zone/time blip - Murray's match against RBA seems about a year ago - as does Stef's win over Roger Shock

JaneJeffer · 25/01/2019 15:25

I iron on a need to only basis. DH irons his own stuff and does DS uniform while he's at it. Anything that involves neatness is not for me. But cleaning I can do! I do the wandering during Gaelic matches as I worry I'll give myself a heart attack. It must be more dangerous watching sport than playing it Grin

Raahh · 25/01/2019 16:00

Jane it is not good for my blood pressure, watching tennis. Grin

I iron, because I don't do much else. because most of the time, if I'm plonked in front of something good on the tv, it can be quite therapeutic. I live with messy people, and mess has to be tidied away before cleaning can start- so that's why most of the time, only the kitchen and bathroom ever look presentable, and everywhere else is just full of stuff.

Thanks to me being an unsociable boot our unsociable dog, we don't have many visitors. So it's all good. Grin.

I can blitz- but I have to be in the mood. I don't get in the mood often. I would like to embrace the Marie Kondo lifestyle- but if it's about getting rid of things that no longer give you joy- then after this week, I would end up living by myself Grin.

Private I know what you mean about it feeling ages since the Murray match.
And it's a month since Christmas day! Grin

kazzaD66 · 25/01/2019 16:49

Still haven't watched back Rafa's match from yesterday yet and running out of time as we are up at the in laws all weekend Confused Still, it means I don't have to cook Smile DH has a big birthday with a 5 in front today - I'm celebrating because he's finally in the same decade as me again BlushGrin

Raahh · 25/01/2019 16:53

Grin Kazza

PrivateParkin · 25/01/2019 17:16

Happy birthday Kazza's DH!! I hope your IL visiting won't interfere with the tennis though!

Our house is also messy at the mo Raahh. However I fear our buyers are about to pull out of buying our house Angry so I may end up doing a lot more tidying if we have to put it back on the market. It's been so relaxing not having to clean up for viewings!!

As long as nobody wants to come round, or make me go anywhere on Sunday morning, it's fine!

Raahh · 25/01/2019 17:18

Private that's rubbish about the house.

I am glad not to have to go through that.

PrivateParkin · 25/01/2019 17:20

Thanks Raahh. They've just been faffing around for ages, trying to get us to knock the price down for various non-reasons etc. And now it's all gone quiet... So I am not optimistic. But I'm also catastrophising!! DH keeps telling me not to be negative (kiwi optimism!).

PrivateParkin · 25/01/2019 17:21

Still, there's always tennis - thank god!!

Raahh · 25/01/2019 17:27

Always tennis !

Grin
PrivateParkin · 25/01/2019 17:30

My motto for life!! Grin

Raahh · 25/01/2019 18:32

Maybe we need a t-shirt.Grin

I've just realised, poor Stefanos is adding to his 'Rafa ruined my year' collection. Grin

PrivateParkin · 25/01/2019 21:29

He is. I think he would've expected to get a bit closer this time. But it wasn't to be, as Rafa was playing lights out.

Yes we need a t shirt!!

Fizzywinegum · 25/01/2019 21:31

Yes Raahh I was wondering when the “Rafa ruined my life (again)” t shirt would be coming out for Stefanos.

Happy birthday to Kazza’s DH (I also have a birthday beginning with 5 this year - feeling old!))

Good luck with the house move Private - don’t let them come round when the men’s final is on.

Raahh · 25/01/2019 21:38

Poor StefanosGrin

He can take heart, that at least he is still 20, and has lustrous locks.

(and I say this as Rafa's biggest fan- his hair (real or not) is not his best featureGrin)

Raahh · 25/01/2019 21:39

oh yes- Sunday morning is a NO for house viewing at the best of times, imo.

But this Sunday morning. Oh, no,no,no.

Fizzywinegum · 25/01/2019 21:40

Yes he is only 20 and has lovely hair - poor Rafa’s hair is looking a bit depleted but I don’t mind Grin
