Anyone watching it? I am quite enjoying (on ep1) but the school looks like it should be in the US as does the sex therapists houe when it is in UK and it looks like it was set in the 70’s (clothes etc) but is set now. Finding that a bit jarring.

Really enjoyed this, watched it in 2 days and now wishing I'd paced myself a bit.

mammmamia · 26/01/2019 22:38

Just watched the 4th episode, it really is brilliant.

youngestisapsycho · 26/01/2019 23:46

Finished the series and loved it... I’m sure I cried at every episode!

PsychedelicSheep · 27/01/2019 19:58

It's filmed at the old university of South Wales campus in caerleon, where I did my masters Smile

bonfireheart · 27/01/2019 22:12

I find it so distracting how Adam looks like he's 30. And most of them look fat older than they are. Maybe should have just set in a university than a school.

lazymum99 · 28/01/2019 16:21

Im on episode 4 and really like it. But i find the Britishness mixed with a US style school very odd. Is it supposed to be a 6th form college? there are no younger pupils. So far the weather has been as if in California! But I love Eric.

Livedandlearned · 28/01/2019 19:52

I've laughed and cried through pretty much the whole series, don't want it to end.

bonfireheart · 30/01/2019 16:34

I think the promotion of this show didn't do it any favours. It's so much better than I expected. It's the sweet moments that make it.

Racecardriver · 30/01/2019 17:10

I watched it and spent the whole time wondering when/where it was set. I have to disagree with you though. Looks more 80s to me.

bonfireheart · 30/01/2019 17:53

The purposely kept it ambiguous so it appeals in the UK and USA, Maeve even says at one point "this country" and I realised they never name places. I think it works well, but wish they'd just given it a fake name for those it doesn't.

Barbarafromblackpool · 30/01/2019 19:37

I'm really enjoying this and the ambiguity of where it's set is bothering me a lot less than it did with Lovesick which was so obviously set in Glasgow, yet nearly all the characters were English.

Thesearmsofmine · 30/01/2019 23:04

Love this show, we are watching the last episode tomorrow.

Aworldofmyown · 31/01/2019 12:04

Loving it, can't get over how incredible Gillian Anderson looks!!! The young actors are amazing.

desperatehousewife21 · 31/01/2019 16:50

Love this I’m about half way through I think, just watched the ball episode.

I get that they want to appeal to the us and uk but they are all obv v British with their accents!

desperatehousewife21 · 31/01/2019 20:56

Ok just watched the last one without realising it was the last one Sad nooooo! I want more!!

Mossyhill · 31/01/2019 21:05

Loved this! One of the best things I’ve watched in ages!

Barbarafromblackpool · 02/02/2019 08:40

Second series given the go ahead

TheFirstOHN · 02/02/2019 13:26

The setting was a bit weird (in time and place), but the writing was good - it managed to be both funny and poignant.

The performance from the headmaster was particularly good, and the young man playing Otis did a great job of portraying that excruciating adolescent awkwardness.

peanutfoldover · 25/01/2020 13:07

Anyone else on season 2 yet???

cheesydoesit · 25/01/2020 14:09

Yeah, binged it. I really liked it, left some good problems to be solved in series 3.

peanutfoldover · 25/01/2020 14:49

I can’t believe i didn’t catch this first time round! Just binged the first season and now on E1S2!!!

Bloody love it.

Why is it such a mash up of decades?!!!

I so wish my parents kept all their 70’s furniture

jay55 · 27/01/2020 11:42

Loved the new series, just as strong as the first.

I loved how the balanced Otis wanting sex because he's a horny teen but also being a romantic and wanting his first time to be right, and I'm sad he didn't get that.

I also loved the way they followed the bus story right through the season, that it wasn't neatly wrapped up in one episode.

iabvvu · 03/02/2020 16:45

This is exactly the thread I've been looking for!

Just finished s2, loved it. No spoilers but did Ola give anyone else the creeps?

Knobblybobbly · 03/02/2020 19:14

I did not like Ola at all! I thought I was the only one!!

Zzqq · 20/02/2020 22:29

I recently bought a prefix from switchonshop and now thanks to her I started to watch sex education. I don't like the plot, but I like the landscape :)
