Pickle I got that ending too. I didn’t really understand it, the crew were calling him by another name and he insisted his name was Stefan? That was in the psychiatrist office when he tried to jump through the window I think.

pickleface · 28/12/2018 22:56

All because of frosties!

Santasshoe · 28/12/2018 23:06

I got a few endings made me anxious so had to give up. Like the nods to previous episodes like nosedive, white bear, metal head etc.

Boohooyouho · 28/12/2018 23:09

I watched for about 3 hours. Will go back and watch more tomorrow once the kids are in bed. Not sure how I feel about it tbh

TheFirstOHN · 28/12/2018 23:18

The cereal you pick doesn't have much influence on what happens (apart from what advert he sees later on). Some decisions are more crucial, e.g. what you pick when he asks for a sign.

dottydod · 28/12/2018 23:27

I love Black Mirror usually and was so excited for this but thought it was total shit and gave up after 90 minutes.

pinkunicorn20 · 29/12/2018 00:44

Just watched this, finished after about 90 mins and multiple 'wrong' choices. Think dh and I need to watch it again

Has anyone watched it without interactive choices? What was that like?

FootFlapperage · 29/12/2018 00:52

PinkUnicorn, that's how I watched it first and it kind of played out naturally & it ended with him.in prison

CantstandmLMs · 29/12/2018 00:54

I felt like I was watching for ages and watched maybe 3 different endings. I didn't see the film set one though so now I wanna watch it again!

RoseGoldEagle · 29/12/2018 03:57

I love Black Mirror but am not sure I liked this. I didn’t actually know what it was, just randomly put Netflix on and saw there was a Black Mirror I hadn’t seen- it took me a while to realise I could actually make choices!!

I really love the idea but fundamentally don’t really like the story that much. How do you know you’ve got to an ending if there’s no credits? (e.g I got to the scene with the psychiatrist and chose ‘jump out of the window’ and got the director saying ‘cut’, but then it looped back to the ‘give me a sign’ scene).

The password on his Dad’s computer also confused me- the first time- I got that right, and saw what his Dad had been doing (or what he thinks his Dad has been doing?? Is this part of his mental illness?) But then later I was looped back to the same password scene, with two different password options- but I knew they were both wrong because I got the right one last time and that wasn’t listed.

I chose to ‘follow Colin’ initially- and chose to make him jump. Later he’s asking where Colin is, and the office guys don’t know- I’m wondering if you never watched this scene (eg chose to see the psychiatrist rather than follow Colin) would they still be talking about Colin being missing? Kitty saw what happened though (if it did really happen?!) and so surely everyone would know?

It also feels like your choices get narrower (e.g throw tea over computer or shout at Dad. I shouted at Dad, but later it loops back to this and your choices are ‘throw tea at computer or destroy computer’- like you never really had a choice and were always going to have to destroy the computer. But maybe that’s the point! )

It’s a fantastic idea, I’m just finding it confusing now and realise I do like my loose ends tied up neatly, which I guess won’t hapoen here if there are so many possible endings! Might watch a few more loops tomorrow though!

BitOfFun · 29/12/2018 04:02

Rose, I think you're right. The ultimate message seems to be that we are all controlled, and that our "choices" become more and more narrow.

Sorry! Obviously a glitch with the app.

Florabella · 29/12/2018 08:20

I thought it was dreadful. It was all about the gimmick and not a great story. Found our way to an ending (a dull ending) and won't be going back to explore any others as the story was too dull.

papayasareyum · 29/12/2018 09:52

I thought it was really dull. A massive gimmick and a crap story.

TheFirstOHN · 29/12/2018 09:54

There's more than one correct password.

If you don't follow Colin, he is present in the scene in the office.

It also feels like your choices get narrower... like you never really had a choice... But maybe that’s the point!
Yes, I think it's to illustrate the theme that choice is an illusion.

pinkunicorn20 · 29/12/2018 12:04

I'm really confused, I follower Colin. Stefan jumped then it pooped back. I followed Colin again and he jumped. Kitty saw this and screamed then the hallucination.
Did that actually happen? I thought so because he appeared to be missing after that point. Later tho you see kitty searching for him having never met Stefan before.
As if that wasn't confusing enough the ending I got included Colin sat in the office with the boss after unsuccessfully trying to call Stefan.

Aaaarrrhgghhhhhh

pinkunicorn20 · 29/12/2018 12:05

Also followed and looped not follower and pooped lol!

NameChanger22 · 29/12/2018 12:06

I was looking forward to this, but it won't work on our laptop, tablets or new smartphone. We don't have a smart TV. Ahhhhh.

pinkunicorn20 · 29/12/2018 12:09

Name changer if you have a fire stick you can download Netflix and it should play with options that way, that's how I got mine to work, apparently my new tv isn't smart enough lol

CantstandmLMs · 29/12/2018 13:03

You got it to work on a fire stick? I have the fire tv and it wouldn't work. I was surprised. Worked straight away on my laptop.

Yes it was a bit gimmicky but I still thought it was a good story and the ultimate message being we think we're in control and even we're not.

I loved the Netflix meta bit lol. Creepy!

Anything set in the 80s is good by me too. Loved seeing old smiths on the High street!

CaptainHammer · 29/12/2018 17:46

I enjoy this style but only as a one off. I think I’m actually enjoying all the memes and comments on twitter about it more!

We watched it tonight. Lasted about 2 hours for us- it was ok.

We managed to get all the endings discussed on this thread except the one of him dead in a chair? Can someone explain that one please? Smile

TheFirstOHN · 29/12/2018 21:58

Can someone explain that one please?

Do you mean how to get to that ending, or an account of what happens? It would be difficult to do the latter without spoilers.
