It's the pressure that's put on though isn't it. To straighten their hair, have fake tan, botox, false eyelashes, etc. Then their photos airbrushed and photoshopped. If they don't do all that they get accused of being haggard and looking awful. It's terrible. I think Emily has made a really valid point but she will be back in full slap because of her career. Not necessarily because she wants too.

DeezMutts · 10/12/2018 14:53

I agree. Makes me glad that literally nobody gives a crap whether I’ve got makeup on or not.

FlamingJuno · 10/12/2018 16:19

Not so sure about Emily, but Sair looked beautiful with and without make-up and Fleur was stunning without it and awful with it. Fleur's make-up made her face look completely featureless / expressionless. Anne didn't really suit a lot of make-up.

dogzdinner · 10/12/2018 16:58

I don't see why Emily needs to do it if she's in acting. Actors can look rough and scruffy.

theliverpoolone · 10/12/2018 17:13

Really random question, but dd and I really can't remember if we found out what the 'treat' was that they all won for that final task's final star?! Did they ever say?

dogzdinner · 10/12/2018 17:51

No I don't think they did.

bonfireheart · 10/12/2018 19:27

According to DigitalSpy the treat was cocktails.

theliverpoolone · 10/12/2018 20:18

Ah, thanks for that. It seemed like they may as well have just gone for the 'good' meal option in the challenge if there was no treat!

Jitters22 · 10/12/2018 20:44

Hugely enjoyable series and none of the celebrities - not a single one - did I dislike.

Each brought something to it, a character quirk, a way of looking at the world, a uniqueness .. they were just all well shaped, well rounded characters in their own way, but all of them I think, gained something from the experience.

We are all influenced by the edit and if the producers, for whatever reason decide to give someone a poor edit then that is what we will see. But it's what we don't see that is equally important and as there seems to be mutual respect and fondness between all of them, I think that says it all.

I enjoyed this series very much and I will miss it. Good fun all round.

The only thing for me was Nick's singing? I like him and I'm honestly not slagging him off .. but he can't sing can he? He really can't. Whatever bucket he's carrying that tune in is leaking like buggery.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 11/12/2018 07:40

I'm looking forward to the what happened next show!!

MagnificentSevenHeaven · 11/12/2018 08:20

I missed the bickering and factions to be honest.

It was all a bit too "lovey" for me.

I'd been voting for Emily all the way through, so was glad she was runner up. Harry was amusing, but that was about it for me....

DeezMutts · 11/12/2018 13:14

Yes I missed a bit of gossiping and tension too. Not the nastiness of last year towards Iain whatsisname but more the give-as-good-as-you-get bickering that there was from Lady C and Tony Hadley that year. I think if Noel had stayed in longer there would have been more in that way as he was a bit naughty and cheeky. Like when he left the camp to get some wood and Nick had to tell him off. Would have just made it more interesting to watch.

Honeyroar · 11/12/2018 22:55

Did you hear that Anne has been saying that they edited a lot of mini disagreements out?

BitOfFun · 12/12/2018 01:40

Ohhhhh, interesting!

bonfireheart, I really think you are overestimating Emily (and all of them) in terms of gameplans- I don't believe any of them are really capable of much more than coping with the hunger, boredom and discomfort. Watch any "celebrity" edition of a quiz show- very few of them are all that clever.

NoLogicInThis · 12/12/2018 17:20

I don't know why they would edit out disagreements. ITV love bitching sessions and drama.
(Unless the disagreements were one of ITV's favoured ones to win and it would stop them winning)

Justmuddlingalong · 12/12/2018 17:58

Will we all be tuning in for the Coming Out show at 9pm tonight?

Honeyroar · 12/12/2018 19:40

I don't understand why they would edit it out either. I believe that she was mainly talking about her and Nick.

MrsFassy · 12/12/2018 21:08

John Barrowman's parents were adorable.

Bearbehind · 12/12/2018 21:17

Appreciate Anne’s honesty

‘It’s completely untrue that I did it to raise awareness for autism; I did it for the money’

Fair play.

Needed a mascara warning with John and his parents....sob.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 12/12/2018 21:49

Enjoying this show...

Bearbehind · 12/12/2018 21:54

Kate Robbins isn’t doing herself any favours - how could she not know her daughter was bitten by a snake!

OP posts:
GaryBaldbiscuit · 12/12/2018 21:57

Shame noel went out so Early

Honeyroar · 12/12/2018 22:11

Who is Kate Robbins? (Aside from Emily's mum!)

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 12/12/2018 22:14

Yes bear I really don't like her, no wonder Emily is insecure with a mum who is so obsessed with appearance.

I was a bit surprised Rita's husband and daughters weren't there or mentioned at all, am sure her daughters are about the same age as my dd, about 12yo. I would say maybe she was protecting their privacy but she did a whole documentary about her daughters deafness.
