Ds 3.5 tells me he likes it - he can see it on the mumsnett page - he can name all the characters.
I was a bit shocked, becasue I didn't realise that he had watched it
So I sat down to watch it myslef.
What a load of tosh.
And I hate these programmes where they don't speak properly = like telletubies - I think it is wrong - mind you buttton moon and the clangers were the same.
I think I should ban all tv programmes that are really bad.
When I kind of insinuated this to ds he went mad - telling me how much he loved it.

AIBU ?

as I think I may have walked in on a bit of a domestic, but I just wanted to pile in and say YABU
DH records it. We all watch it sometimes after tea, shuddering with delight. It's the only children's prog I can watch without internal screaming.

bundle · 21/06/2007 16:35

I may have to borrow tapes from MI or BP's dh....@ discerning viewers..

Oblomov · 21/06/2007 16:35

God I've clearly created quite a hot potato and am now getting character assassinations -cheeers guys.

Yes its a load of old tosh, just like teletubbies in its hey-day, but ds loves it and I have sky+ a load of them for emergencies

sockmonkey · 21/06/2007 16:40

Oblomov - it says you are reading war & peace in your member page. I wasn't having a go. I think you must be genuinely very clever! It was meant as a compliment, I'm sorry if you thought differently.

Oblomov · 21/06/2007 16:40

God you're all a bit fruity today aren't you.
Hit me where it f**king hurts, why don't you.
Marina =My dressing gown
Sockmonkey = my reading material

Just noticed it's advertising ITNG on this thread. A sign maybe?

No - the ultimate chill out is watching an episode of the Night Garden. Even the BBc claim it was made to entertain and relax

tortoiseSHELL · 21/06/2007 16:55

Any of you who think it is 'lovely' or 'charming' or 'gorgeous' have not experienced the total humiliation and embarrassment I had when I took ds1 to his violin lesson, and he refused to say any word but MackaPacka. In varying tones, inflexions, sometimes even 'MackaPackaMackaPacka'. After 20 minutes even his lovely lovely violin teacher was at the point of surrender.

Derek Jacobi I agree is fantastic - he reads Harry and the Robots, so he has my vote!

bakedpotato · 21/06/2007 16:56

No sweat Oblomov, I'll have some of that fluorescent juice the Tombliboos were having recently, in weeble-shaped sippycups.

What was that stuff called? They made awful slurping noises drinking it. Then they learned to drink quietly. What's not to approve of.

jeangenie · 21/06/2007 16:57

we all cheer in this house when the line "isn't it a pip" comes, we love it - however, we have noted a pronounced absence of said line this series - have they left it out, or have my family just stopped paying proper attention?

family council needed pronto methinks

jeangenie · 21/06/2007 16:57

was it pinky-ponk juice? VERY noisy indeed at first

bakedpotato · 21/06/2007 16:58

Yes, I'll have a pinky-ponk juice, please.

Oblomov · 21/06/2007 17:38

Best Go. A TV programme is on soon.

TootyFrooty · 21/06/2007 17:42

I bet dh that he couldn't get the phrase "Isn't that a pip" into his Really Important Meeting today. He rang me this afternoon and told me he managed it. [proud]

I love Night Garden. It's lovely and calming. Ds1 adores it and even ds2 who's too young to 'get' tv enjoys it.

babyblue2 · 21/06/2007 17:49

My girls love it too which is fine cos get peace for the entire time its on. Agree with the wonder pets thing. Really bad imo but wouldn't ban it if they like it, its harmless enough.

jeangenie · 21/06/2007 17:59

RESPECT for your dh TootyFrooty, would appreciate further contextualising detail please

TootyFrooty · 21/06/2007 20:21

Certainly JG. In this Very Important Meeting they were discussing getting a big new job in. The decision was between dh's firm and another big firm. They got the call in the meeting to say dh's firm got the job because they were streets ahead of their rivals. Dh took the call in the meeting, hung up the phone, looked around the meeting room and said "We've got the job. Well, isn't that a pip". He says he doesn't think anyone noticed they were too busy being pleased about the new job.

TootyFrooty · 21/06/2007 20:22

However, I suspect they are all sitting in the pub saying "Did you hear what he said? He's lost it"

SpawnChorus · 21/06/2007 20:48

TootyFrooty Lololol!!

booge · 21/06/2007 21:13

We love it, I have the theme tune as my ring tone it's not too offensive as ring tones go.
