Anyone watching? I've a 17 yo dd and I think it'll be fascinating.

On a practical level dd would absolutely cope, she can cook, clean, do laundry etc.

Emotionally? I think she'd find it difficult.

She's almost 18 (in a few months) and sometimes talks about "when I move out" threatens to leave so she can do what she likes

But when it comes to crunch I think she still prefers not having the responsibility.

Is anyone watching this evening's episode?

derxa · 23/11/2018 20:47

Yes the mum's a mnetter. she called her DH 'an old gimmer'

FrenchSchnoodle · 23/11/2018 20:54

Ha. That's what I thought too.

derxa · 23/11/2018 20:57

I'd have loved 4 sons. Feeling a bit weepy.

FrenchSchnoodle · 23/11/2018 21:00

To be honest I thought they were all quite lovely. I'm glad that they got to be independent, especially the twins.

derxa · 23/11/2018 21:03

They were all lovely. I loved the fact that they all went to Scouts Grin
I'm very old fashioned.

SaveKevin · 23/11/2018 21:10

Loved tonight’s mum, their boys were just lovely.
I loved their face when he realised how late they were for school.

Resurgam2016 · 23/11/2018 21:45

She is. I know her.

derxa · 23/11/2018 21:50

Resurgam Tell us more. Grin I'm envious of her.

MrsTommyBanks · 23/11/2018 21:53

What lovely boys on tonight's episode.

FrenchSchnoodle · 23/11/2018 22:00

I think that the youngest handled it very well after initially getting upset. He's only 8! They were all so articulate too.

BigSandyBalls2015 · 23/11/2018 23:09

Lovely family but thought it was a bit odd that the dad couldn't have taken time off work for the first weekend away with his wife for 13 years!!

FrenchSchnoodle · 23/11/2018 23:13

He was off work as I understood it. He was simply working late on the Monday... Or did I misunderstand it?

Resurgam2016 · 23/11/2018 23:17

He had the sort of job that means you have to work even if you haven't planned to.

I absolutely love this show, I watch again it the next day with my 9 yr old boy.
My son finds it fascinating and loves that they eat sweets. It has opened up a lot of dialogue between us as to giving him more freedom and responsibility.
It interesting as a mum when your discipline changes as they grow older and these shoes really reflect that dilemma.
I thought the 4 brothers would be fighting all the time so it was lovely to see them all getting on so well, you could feel the love they had for each other. Parents did a fab job & they should be very proud.
Last week was so heartwarming too, real love between siblings.
I think sometimes as parents we are too hard on ourselves & under estimate the abilities of our children.
