@Shitstormiscoming If it makes you feel better, the experience doesn't sound as great as you'd think! Not allowed to go to the toilet for 7 hours, sitting on a bum-numbing chair, your phone is confiscated, and several retakes. I think I'll stick with my sofa, kettle, and loo.

AJ and Aljaz did well with partners I thought were average last year (Mollie/Gemma) accordingly. Kate's been on borrowed time for a while and I'm still not feeling Lauren...are people voting for their pros?

I think the pros make a difference in as much as some of them make it fun for their celebs and the voters respond to the celebs who are enjoying themselves better than the ones who are finding it hard going.

xsquared I said in an earlier post that I don’t know who DJJ is. Have never seen him or heard of him. Didn’t read the Sun interview I fact I asked someone on here earlier about it as I knew nothing of it. But my own opinion is with seeing him only on Strictly that he takes himself ever so seriously. Comes across as a Lovie.

I've been to the live show years ago when Alesha Dixon won.

Your phones are taken away and although you can't leave the studio once you're in it was nowhere near 7 hours.

Sit down half hour before programme, then length of the programme, half hour wait while presenters get changed etc and then the 45 minute programme. So 4.5-5hrs max.

Yeah schaden Bruno goes without saying but also he is less smug than the other judges and so OTT that he doesn't annoy me in the same way!

FWIW, a mate of mine is a freelance cameraman & has worked with DJJ on Red Dwarf and a travel doc which entailed living close to him in the Carribean for a week or two - he has nothing but good things to say about DJJ, says he is a lovely guy. I only have his word for it, but he is not slow to share his opinion...

Ranj, Kate, Swanny and Lauren have all reached their peak, I think (despite me loving them all) - not sad Ranj has gone, but Kate should have been out tonight.

Well I may be a lone voice but I won't miss Ranj or Janette!!!!

Charles wasn't at the bottom of the leader board so it's viewers who are putting him in the dance off.
My dd adores AJ and votes for him every week.
I voted for Kate because id much rather Ranj or some of the others go, I like her and always have done, she's a good role model succeeding even though she never fitted the 'pretty petite blonde stereotype' of a tv presenter.
It's also harder for her and Alijaz as she is very tall and not a petite little flexible young thing so he can't pick her up as easily. No offence to her.

@PurpleNovember that’s a very interesting blog. A lot doesn’t surprise me though. I’ve been to Elstree Studios a couple of times. Company I used to work for sponsored BB many moons back so had a few “vip” treats to watch an eviction... v similar mood. No phones back then (or ones with cameras anyway), but queues for ages, no loos, scream here, be quiet now, boo here etc. It was funny watching it on the tv afterwards as it was so different to what I’d seen live. Davina was awesome and very nice to the audience.

Still want to watch SCD though

@beyondthesky I think it's changed since then as they now film the pro dances and singer's performance etc.

Everyone has to be seated by 4pm to film those, and the results recording doesn't finish until near 11pm so that's around 7 hours.

Just read a Sun article which said that DJJ made some very unwise comments on Twitter a few years ago which have come back to bite him. Apparently he was very disparaging about Bruno and Craig’s dancing ability and fitness to judge. Not to mention some cryptic hints of institutional racism. Awkward.

My DD (6) had a couple of tears when Dr Ranj got booted off 😕
One of my work colleagues is neighbours with DJJ and has only good things to say about him!

I will miss Dr Ranj. I liked Janette's comment about it being a show for non-dancers learning to dance.

I thought the kids vote would take Ranj to Blackpool. They must have all been at the fireworks last night. Surely it’s Stacey’s to lose at this point?

I've been to the show twice... both times we were seated by around 5pm, then they pre-recorded the pro-dance and the Sunday night guest, and also a few links by Tess and Bruce. DO started filming around 9.30pm and we were on our way home by 10.30 latest - that was back in the White City days though.. maybe it's different at Elstree.
