oh how marvellous. i've really enjoyed what i've seen of this series, i don't know why people are saying it's no good. (although didn't rate ep 1 of human dalek thing so didn't watch ep 2).

Aitch · 18/06/2007 23:05

but isn't there an end of the universe at the end of each leg, edam? or do the trousers meet in a knot at the end? [baffled]

SueBaroo · 18/06/2007 23:06

No, I thought the Dalek episodes were bobbins. But I've truly thought the rest of it has been brilliant. A whole season arc looking at what it means to be human and mortality/immortality. fab.

Aitch · 18/06/2007 23:08

AND i like martha.

SueBaroo · 18/06/2007 23:09

oo, Aitch, you're right good, you are. I love Martha, I do.

edam · 18/06/2007 23:09

No, aitch, because you don't make just one decision in your life - every time you make a decision, there's the you who chose x and the you who chose y going off in different directions. You'd end up with a very, very messy family-tree type diagram. Read Terry Pratchett, he's very good on this!

And if you happen to have a Tardis, you can go back to the same point in time and make it even more complicated.

SueBaroo · 18/06/2007 23:11

edam, but is the time trousers thing more applicable to parallel universe stuff, which isne quite the same as time-travel?

SueBaroo · 18/06/2007 23:12

See like, I reckon it's a bit more like a Time-Dream-Catcher. A big hoop with lots and lots of strands stretched over it like a cats cradle.

Aitch · 18/06/2007 23:13

how many legs to your trousers have, edam? i think you're just making this up, now... [cross]

edam · 18/06/2007 23:15

yes, but I was thinking about the Back to the Future explanation, and the timelines concept. Trousers of Time + time travel is when it gets really complicated!

(Still waiting for any evidence that you do other stuff beyond watching and talking about Dr Who.)

edam · 18/06/2007 23:16

Like the dream catcher analogy, btw.

Aitch, answer is lots. New pair of trousers every time you make a life-changing decision!

SueBaroo · 18/06/2007 23:17

I... I... erm..I post on the David Tennant Appreciation thread on OG.. that has loads of pictures on it that aren't from Dr Who, it does.

sobs

I have no life.

Dawnybabe · 18/06/2007 23:18

I know what you mean, edam, I am also a Discworld nutter.

But about Cap'n Jack.... How come he was already a time traveller before he met Rose? How did that happen? That was before she made him immortal or whatever.

SueBaroo · 18/06/2007 23:19

He was a renegade Time Agent

slaps self

Stop it woman, now!

Dawnybabe · 18/06/2007 23:20

So he had a life changing event that made him a time agent, and then another one that made him immortal? Crikey. Glad I got that sorted out.

I too need to get a life...

edam · 18/06/2007 23:24

at SB's Captain Jack fixation making her a well-rounded human being (says the Dr Who/Pratchett obsessive).

SueBaroo · 18/06/2007 23:27

Captain Jack and Ten... naughty dream heaven. That scene with them talking to each other through the door, bathed in the red light... Oh go on then, if I must, boys.

edam · 18/06/2007 23:28

Me first, Sue! (Actually you can have Tennant, he's only fanciable as Dr Who, not as himself.)

SueBaroo · 18/06/2007 23:30

Oh jolly good (though I fear it might be a cat-fight between me and MrsWho, lol.

Mind you, I say that, I thought the chemistry between Ten and Capn' Jack was a bit ripe, tbh. There's a rude fanfic in there, methinks.

Aitch · 18/06/2007 23:32

you lie, edam. i have adored tennant since Takin' Over The Asylum. when he was But A Bairn.

SueBaroo · 18/06/2007 23:33

wee, wee little man with his floppy curtains... sooo sweet

serenity · 18/06/2007 23:34

Shall I link you to some rude slash fic? (there are some very very bad women on the 'net!)

There was one that made me blush so much it took me three attempts to read it (and I'm not going to be able to watch them together in the the same light again...)

SueBaroo · 18/06/2007 23:35

serenity, I'll have a link Mind you, you might have been reading some of mine, lol.

edam · 18/06/2007 23:36

Serenity, has your name got anything to do with that US sci-fi series? Dh really liked it, couldn't get into it myself (took itself very seriously).

Aitch · 18/06/2007 23:40
