Anyone watching The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina?

I'm watching this today, only got to episode 2 so far but loving it. It's deliciously dark, quite a few British actors in it, very feminist. The credits are awesome too - really pulpy.

Thoughts, anyone?

I didn’t realise that Sabrina was from the Archie comics in the 70’s. I thought the 90’s teenage show was just a new creation. I googled about Ambrose. It describes him as sabrina’s “Cousin”, so I’m guessing not an actual cousin but because of their close relationship and her having grown up with him there (although he will have been 17 for all that time!) they call him cousin.

I’m enjoying it from a storyline point of view and the imagery is very good. I’m ignoring the clunky woke feminism. I Wish Salem could talk. I always loved the salem in the teenage witch show.

I get he’s under house arrest clearly, but I wonder why that house, if neither of the ‘aunts’ is actually his mother?

It could mean 'coven aunts' and they took him in when his own parents died. He's quite old (no spoilers).

I realised last night that none of Sabrina’s mortal friends have mothers, nor do the weird sisters. I understand the reason for the weird sisters not to have mothers. They’re orphans. And possibly, if I am being generous, Harvey’s character. But i can’t see any reason why mothers weren’t written for Ros or susie. That coupled with the episode I just watched have completely destroyed any notion I may have been clinging onto that this show was in any way feminist. It’s absolutely not. It’s a box ticker. That’s all.

I disagree. I think what we have had so far is scene setting. All the dark load must be obeyed crap, the queen episode, the crazy aunt talking about there never having been any option for witches but to sign his book, Sabrina's goal is to bring to down the dark Lord I think.

I'm on episode four, I'm 60% enjoying it but I too find the feminist preaching clunky and annoying. Especially when Sabrina is shown nearly naked in every episode so far. Very disturbing as the character is 15.
