Just haven't changed Chanel after Bake Off but actually this looks quite good!

And staying away from places full of CCTV cameras!

SymphonyofShadows · 19/10/2018 09:22

Kay Birley is really unliveable isn't she? There was an awful lot of free advertising for that holiday estate, which stunk a bit for me.

SymphonyofShadows · 19/10/2018 09:24

Unlikeable! Gah, fecking phone!

DaffoDeffo · 19/10/2018 13:41

Kay is unbelievable. The whole hiding in her exclusive estate. Fgs! And all those staff!

I want to watch to see her get caught Grin

ChipInTheSugar · 19/10/2018 13:45

And how she was smarming over the MP guy! I'd be pissed off with her if I was Mrs MP.

DaffoDeffo · 19/10/2018 14:00

yes she was wasn't she Shock

I doubt his wife has anything to worry about Grin

JurassicAdventure · 19/10/2018 16:39

I love this, it's so stupid.

Although I was watching Reported Missing on BBC1 and they didn't seem half as good as these guys, so either the public sector is massively underfunded or their "powers of state" are hugely exaggerated. [Sad]

I don't think it's "scripted" so much as they have really strict rules they have to follow and a assistant director and camera person with them all the time who has to check in at least once a day (although apparently the person they check in with isn't part of the hunters).

DaffoDeffo · 19/10/2018 16:47

I also love it for its stupidity. I need a bit of ridiculous TV and this totally ticks the boxes.

I don't know how they are tracking the sims so quickly. I have worked with agencies that do this and to do it that fast is unheard of. I can only imagine that the people had to give consent beforehand and the phone companies were on board. Otherwise it could never happen that fast!

WeeMadArthur · 19/10/2018 16:58

I don’t understand why their loved ones don’t also have burner phones so that contact is impossible to trace!

ajandjjmum · 19/10/2018 17:01

Think it's a great programme.

I was actually disappointed with the Cotswold luxury holiday homes. Yes, they were very nice, but really, would Liz Hurley and other celebrities all want identikit properties lined up on a lake?

SymphonyofShadows · 19/10/2018 22:29

It would be so much better if they just had body cams but they would probably be uncatchable

grumiosmum · 20/10/2018 09:09

I know where those Cotswold holiday homes are. Like a posh version of Center Parcs.

SymphonyofShadows · 20/10/2018 10:49

Wouldn't surprise me if the A listers that were name dropped have been given the use of them in exchange for publicity, then let their families use them. The units are probably all full of bankers in the summer. Burley is a shameless attention hound.

BrieAndChilli · 20/10/2018 11:04

In the normal version of hunted they have to do certain things like, take money out of a cash machine at least 3 times, phone home at least once, have to move 5 miles everyday (to stop them holing up somewhere for the duration) they camera man has to let the producer know where they are (so he can then direct the hunters where to look etc) etc etc
Otherwise someone could just buy a load of food and find a random place to stay hidden - which wouldn’t make a very interesting show!!

JurassicAdventure · 20/10/2018 16:33

Not only "posh centre parcs" but right at the end of RAF Fairford's runway it must be noisy when they're doing night flying! (although I bet they get a great view of the red arrows at the tattoo)

AngeloMysterioso · 23/10/2018 22:15

Watching the second ep, Dom Joly got caught all because Vicky P couldn’t go a few days without hugging her Mum! Bloody ridiculous.

OP posts:
Cherrypie32 · 23/10/2018 22:25

I think they knew what they were doing though. I enjoyed tonight’s ep even though still ridiculous 😂

Cherrypie32 · 23/10/2018 22:52

Vicky P’s Insta stories tonight allude to the fact that they might have to do certain things as it’s an entertainment show. Apparently they’d been on the run a week by then and I suspect producers conveyed they had to do something to help them be found.

KitchenDancefloor · 23/10/2018 23:40

I've only seen still images of Vicky before tonight's show (I'm too old to be her target 'Insta' demographic).

What's with the jaw movements? Does she always do that or is it a stress reaction?

DaffoDeffo · 24/10/2018 10:41

It was utterly ridiculous!

Surely she's been away from her mum longer than a week before?!

TheBookThief · 24/10/2018 10:55

Dom seemed to want to bait the hunters for fun so I did wonder how much he encouraged Vicky to meet up with her mum.

Kay fawning all over the MP guy is stomach churning.

We are quite sure lots of these near misses early on are set up because its a TV prog made for entertainment and to raise money.

OH and I say that if only the police could see cctv footage and track phone signals etc as fast as the Hunters seem to no one would be missing and all the crims would be caught

ChipInTheSugar · 24/10/2018 11:05

Were Kate and MP not actually in the 4x4 with tinted windows then? I think it was a clever decoy - I reckon he definitely could win.

ellenanora5 · 26/10/2018 19:29

Just watched the first two, I love this show, its great fun Smile

I was thinking the same about Kay, she's all over the mp chap, its quite off putting.

Vicky was in the jungle without her Mam for a lot longer so I think it may have been a set up.

The two chaps, one was on dancing on ice but don't know who the other one is, well they're a bit fond of themselves aren't they.

HopeGarden · 28/10/2018 01:57

I thought it was really daft of Vicky to phone her mum, but not as daft as the MP going to vote in the House of Commons when he knows full well it’s televised.

Why agree to do this show if you can’t take the time off work?

MyVisionsComeFromSoup · 30/10/2018 16:43

if it's the same rules as the non-sleb version, they each have to do something that risks being caught as part of it, plus there's quite a bit of "guiding" by the production team(s) to make sure it's a. good telly and b. gives the hunters a chance
