I couldn't help but binge watch this.

Well written, fantastic acting and gripping story telling.

Excellent.

MissWimpyDimple · 20/10/2018 22:20

Excellent. Really didn't see the twist coming either.

Raza actor was superb. In fact a lot of the actors were excellent.

AvonCallingBarksdale · 21/10/2018 09:46

Thanks, MissWimpyDimple from those of us that haven’t seen it all yet Hmm No need for reveals like that really. Confused
Saw the first two episodes last night - really enjoyed, lots of great acting.

user1457017537 · 21/10/2018 10:17

What reveal, she just said she didn’t see the twist coming

Violetroselily · 21/10/2018 10:36

Saying there's a twist is not revealing anything Confused

CluedoAddict · 21/10/2018 10:54

I've watched it all. Thought it was very good. Preferred it to Killing Eve.

AvonCallingBarksdale · 21/10/2018 11:21

Well it’s revealing that there’s a twist which now means each episode you’re wondering whether “this” is the twist. One is aware that not everything is as it seems. It’s usually considered bad form.

chillipophey · 21/10/2018 11:30

I agree Avon. You end up looking for the twist.

Maybe people should start a thread where spoilers are allowed.

LaLaLolly · 21/10/2018 11:39

I'm really enjoying this.

The actor who plays Raza is very charismatic.

midsomermurderess · 21/10/2018 14:19

I don't think you can really compare Killing Eve to anything else that's on now. Although, having said that, the Informer is in part about subverting stereotypes, so there is that.

AmIthatbloodycold · 21/10/2018 15:17

Just watched this on I player. Really, really enjoyed it. Can't compare to Killing Eve, both good in their own right. Most dramas have a twist, it's revealing nothing.

AvonCallingBarksdale · 21/10/2018 15:25

Oh well if most dramas have a twist that’s ok. Would people have found it annoying to be told there’s a twist in the Crying Game or Sixth Sense? The Others or Ashes To Ashes? I know it would have spoilt my enjoyment to be wondering what the twist was. I didn’t know, and hadn’t read that there was a twist in the Informer until this thread. The fact that, apparently, most dramas have a twist doesn’t that cancel out. Still, I have learnt from this not to go on drama threads on mumsnet Grin

MissWimpyDimple · 22/10/2018 20:42

Oh FFS 🤦🏻‍♀️ surely everything has a "twist"?

Jeez.

AvonCallingBarksdale · 22/10/2018 22:10

And you’ve resorted to swearing at me, albeit via acronym, because...? It’s just a TV programme Grin

Awrite · 23/10/2018 18:05

Loving this - have only watched the first 2 episodes so don't want to read the thread in case there are any spoilers. Will come back when I've watched the rest.

Petalflowers · 23/10/2018 21:07

Second episode now on tv.

The main detective looks like an English Rhod Gilbert to me.

Alexandra2018 · 23/10/2018 21:12

I've watched episode one
I'm going to watch it on I player at the weekend

dozent · 24/10/2018 19:16

Why doesn't Raza shake the teacher's hand at the beginning of the first episode?

user1457017537 · 24/10/2018 19:17

He’s Muslim and some do not touch women as do some men of the Jewish faith

SavageBeauty73 · 24/10/2018 20:44

I thought he was pretending to be more religious/strict than he is to get his little brother off the hook.

veevee040 · 24/10/2018 21:06

Amazing show!! Wish I could discuss the end and spoilers I will wait though

chillipophey · 24/10/2018 21:18

I made a thread for anyone who has watched it all and wants to discuss
The Informer - WITH SPOILERS for those who have watched it all on iplayer www.mumsnet.com/Talk/telly_addicts/3401812-the-informer-with-spoilers-for-those-who-have-watched-it-all-on-iplayer

Deathraystare · 27/10/2018 09:51

Raza looks a bit like the male model David Gandy!

I was on the edge of my seat when he and the black guy (cannot remember name) were going off to a party (he needed to 'score' off the guy and the guy seemed super suspicious).

LittleBookofCalm · 31/10/2018 05:22

Saw this last night for the first time, put off as it has Jessica Raines in it and didnt think too much of main man
but did like Raza very much.
plan to watch further.has a good write up

Gatehouse77 · 31/10/2018 08:32

I watched the whole lot and, as others have said, was hugely impressed with Nabhaan Rizwan (Raza). Particularly as it's his debut role.

I thought the plot was interesting and it touches on some of the difficult areas of policing from both sides.
