What do people mean by a Primal Fear type moment?

BouncyTigger85 · 17/10/2018 19:19

My initial theory in episode 2 was that Alistair was framing Alex so he would definitely get custody of Chloe.
I still think he killed Noah (seemed pretty quick to come up with the medicine mix up cause of death and blame Jo's exhausted memory of tasting). Probably not on purpose, but also hasn't buried him under the beautiful tree, and that along with making her believe it was her fault, is why Joanna cracked and murdered him (if she did that).

Bishalisha · 17/10/2018 19:45

A part of me hopes that they do find the body and he is given a respectful burial somewhere his mother knows where he is. I think maybe she seems the way she does in the court and psychologist scenes as she is ‘at peace’ knowing she’s got justice for her baby and he’s safely buried somewhere and she can now talk about him

memememememememememeem · 17/10/2018 19:50

@Bishalisha I got the impression he buried the body at the building site on the beach, weren't they putting conreate down (or something like that?)

CoolCarrie · 17/10/2018 20:15

Primal Fear is an excellent film with Richard Gere and Ed Norton where events are not what they seem.

MissEliza · 18/10/2018 11:39

Bit of a risk burying a body where work is ongoing. Maybe that's how the body is discovered?

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/10/2018 12:13

I agree it seemed to relaxed talking to Chloe that he didn’t know his baby was dead

ellenanora5 · 18/10/2018 20:35

I've just remembered something, when they first discover Noah is missing from the car at the supermarket Alastair looks round and sees a red jeep (I think it is) driving by.

Last episode when he is recalling it we see that it is Alex driving the jeep, also doesn't she have tools and mud and muck and stuff in the boot, so now I'm wondering if she helped bury Noah.

It's probably just coincidence and I've no idea why I've even thought of it.

Can't wait for Sunday to see how it ends.

HopeGarden · 18/10/2018 21:30

Surely if Alex had been involved in a cover up, there’d have been some mention of it when Alistair turned up at her house and they were talking?

Besides which, there’s no obvious motivation for her to help secretly bury Noah.

SouthWestmom · 18/10/2018 22:11

Just watching number 3.

This might be a bit controversial but it is a bit too close to online theories about MM. plus all the church stuff, the medicine, the analysis of video tape - all online and poured over in the MM case. Plus apparently it's 'inspired' by it.

Just feels a bit distasteful (I am not a MM theorist, I feel desperately sorry for her parents).

LuckyDiamond · 18/10/2018 22:30

Someone will be along to tell you off for that post in a minute.

SouthWestmom · 18/10/2018 22:41

Yes, maybe. But I'm not speculating about the MM case.
It's left a nasty taste (week 3) because it's very similar - the church scenes, the bib (cuddle cat), the medicine (online theory), the analysis of body language (YouTube), the publicist (Mitchell someone?)
It feels too close to making entertainment out of someone else's misery.

tumpymummy · 18/10/2018 22:50

noeuf I agree. It totally reminded me of MM, and said that to hubby as we were watching.

Clawdy · 18/10/2018 23:10

Any references to real life cases, from whatever point of view, are likely to be reported, and rightly too.

LuckyDiamond · 18/10/2018 23:19

Bit longer than a minute but there you go.

Twitter is where you want to be for that line of chat.

SouthWestmom · 19/10/2018 06:37

I'm fine being reported but I'm not speculating on the MM case, I'm saying I think this is distasteful. I am not interested in theories about the case; I've reported unkind stuff like that myself. 'And rightly so' - really? For a sympathetic comment. 🙄

SoupDragon · 19/10/2018 07:32

You are drawing direct comparisons. That is distasteful and unkind.

SouthWestmom · 19/10/2018 08:12

No, I'm saying I think the show is doing that, which I thought was distasteful and unkind.

Please read posts properly.

SoupDragon · 19/10/2018 08:29

And by doing that you are therefore drawing direct comparisons which is distasteful and unkind.

Perhaps you need to learn to read properly.

SouthWestmom · 19/10/2018 08:55

Erm, yes ok. Not sure what you mean there but great retort 👍🏼

MissEliza · 19/10/2018 14:09

Noeuf you are drawing parallels but I do see what you mean.

Clawdy · 19/10/2018 14:43

Hopefully these posts will be removed, like others a few posts back.

SoupDragon · 19/10/2018 18:47

Not sure what you mean there

It's quite straightforward really. By repeating the theories as they supposedly link to the programme you are drawing direct comparisons.

SoupDragon · 19/10/2018 18:48

I haven't seen any comparisons in the programme at all.

Sunflowersforever · 21/10/2018 21:03

For the last time ....
