OP posts:
Ladymargarethall · 29/12/2018 06:06

I fell asleep half way through. Enough said.

MyOtherProfile · 29/12/2018 09:42

What happened to Fletch's other 3 kids? Didn't he tell someone to put them in a cab and send them to the hospital?

SleepingStandingUp · 29/12/2018 12:24

Aunty Bex. I assumed thry "there" or "about to be there" but didn't wanna pay the money to have them in screen, especially as the second daughter is imaginery

SleepingStandingUp · 02/01/2019 23:58

Any thoughts on the New Year's episode??

I quite liked the Jac, Ric, Sacha thing and a bit of light entertainment juxtaposed with Serena and co

Redcrayonisthebest · 03/01/2019 02:51

I thought this episode was much better than the Christmas one. I like the chemistry between Sacha, Ric and Jac. Feel really sorry for Serena.

Ladymargarethall · 03/01/2019 06:01

Much better than the Christmas one.

Bit surprised Morven turned out to be so fickle and dumped Cam. Maybe she will never recover from losing the love of her life.

QueenofmyPrinces · 03/01/2019 09:20

For some reason I had a feeling it was going to come out that Jason had hurt Greta and I’m very glad I was wrong!!!

I also liked the Jac, Sacha, Ric triangle. It was sooooo obvious though that the women was purposefully digging for Ric’s idea so she could use it herself.

SleepingStandingUp · 03/01/2019 09:20

Yeah, cheating in him with a tatoooed barman didn't seem very Morven like. I guess they needed a break up that wasn't Cam's fault

Redcrayonisthebest · 03/01/2019 09:36

Yes Ric was incredibly dense sharing his idea with somebody he didn't know like that. I love Ric though and wonder when he's going to get a new love interest, he's clearly on the look out.
I was pissed off with the bit where Sacha shared about his depression during his presentation. It felt like he won because of his speech about depression rather than because of his brilliant idea.
The whole point about Sascha is that he comes across as a bumbling idiot but he's actually massively intelligent.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 03/01/2019 09:41

Perhaps Sacha will be promoted to consultant this year? About time...

SleepingStandingUp · 03/01/2019 10:43

Yes, fairly or not, would they really give £1 M to the guy with ideas scribbled in a sheet of paper who has ingoing issues with depression? He might deserve it but I think it's unlikely.
Did Ric do his presentation or not?? I'd have called her out.

Serena needs some support, I really think needs to step up, thry have a lovely connect.

BishopBrennansArse · 03/01/2019 10:48

The road trip mix tape made me laugh out loud.

PretendLife · 03/01/2019 14:34

Morvan was just thrown under a bus to provide a reason for Cam being back. Completely not like her but Holby won't worry about that.

Sacha winning was silly after the 'presentation' he gave, not good to have him using the depression card. And, yes, why the hell didn't Ric call that awful woman out on stealing his idea.

I'm wondering if Jac will let Jonny have Emma again, although of course that would be a re-run of previous story. Bit selfish of her to make Sacha squash in the back of that car as well.

Missingthesea · 03/01/2019 21:41

Perhaps Morven will turn up soon too, and someone will exclaim "Cameron told us you'd dumped him!" and she'll say bitterly "Oh, that's what he told you, was it?" etc., etc., Grin

HalleLouja · 03/01/2019 22:56

I think Sasha got made consultant a while back. Think they need more screen time with Sasha, Ric and Jac. Maybe with Serena thrown in. You could really feel her pain this week.

Redcrayonisthebest · 03/01/2019 22:58

Did Serena operate on Greta on the anniversary of her daughter's death?

SleepingStandingUp · 04/01/2019 00:48

I think a romp with Ric would cheer her up. He MUST be good in bed, he has had enough bloody practice and Lola came back for seconds

Not sure on anniversary.

It was mean of Jac but typical Jac. Also but didn't they put the roof down on the way out, made it much easier!!

Don't think she'd give Emma up tbh, no good at quitting

ChoccyJules · 06/01/2019 11:50

Couldn’t believe Ric didn’t tell anyone about his idea being nicked but I assume he couldn’t prove it. Although thinking about it, he would have a presentation ready to go which they could have found some kind of date stamp on....

Isitmybathtimeyet · 06/01/2019 12:06

The presentations we saw (two of them) seemed extremely light on detail. I know looking for any sort of realism in Holby is a fool's errand but £1m of funding for a picture of a fried breakfast and a vague idea was slightly hard to believe.

ChoccyJules · 06/01/2019 15:42

I think they just fancied a jolly for a special episode and details be damned. Did Tom Campbell-Gore indicate he was coming back?

Isitmybathtimeyet · 06/01/2019 15:56

I assumed his reference to being about the place and the introduction of his wife suggested that she might be joining the staff shortly. Although not sure what they'd do with an orthopaedic specialist?

Seniorcitizen1 · 06/01/2019 17:44

newmodel Sacha is a consultant

MyOtherProfile · 06/01/2019 23:49

The whole point about Sascha is that he comes across as a bumbling idiot but he's actually massively intelligent.
This is so unbelievable though. If he was really massively intelligent his career would have got further faster. Oldest registrar in the country or whatever?

would they really give £1 M to the guy with ideas scribbled in a sheet of paper who has ingoing issues with depression?
No. My dh who works in this kind of field was shouting at the telly. He reckons they would have required much more info from everyone, and the successful pitch would have got 100k to start the ball rolling and see if it was actually feasible.
And the conference wouldn't have been over new years eve!

Isitmybathtimeyet · 07/01/2019 08:58

They would have wanted massive amounts of detail for even 100k. I've done funding bids for 10k and it's been pages and pages of information. But I think we all know that really!

SleepingStandingUp · 07/01/2019 09:52

I think Sacha poetically is very intelligent, he just isn't very ambitious
