Mode is a bit high glam for the UK, but very like American mags, I believe. The people are much more bitchy and editors far, far more scary in RL though. There's never anyone crying in the loo at Mode or shaking with fear. Totally unrealistic.

But this week's Dr Who is Fear Factor 5.5, which is Even Scarier, and only The Impossible Planet has been Scarier (Fear Factor 6, according to DS1).

The blurb about the prog said something about old scores to be settled and there was the man in Mexico who phoned someone & said guess who's back in town meaning Betty's Dad so it could be him who's dead, although I think Betty might have been more upset. I kept thinking nothing had happened with that bit of the storyline but maybe it did.

I still have nightmares about the features meetings, Scummy! Eeek! Blooming terrifying. LOTS of crying in the loos. Tons of backstabbing. The fashion director actually refused to look at work experience girls she deemed too unattractive! Seriously!

I look back with huge fondness though. Stockholm syndrome, probably.
We did laugh a lot. And drink a tremendous amount. Actually one of my former colleagues drank herself literally to death, which wasn't funny at all.

I can't help having a grudging soft spot for Wilhemina and her lust for power undercut with a softer side. I liked it when she wangled getting Marc back by her side.

Before I go to bed, DS1 knows the Fear Factor rating because it is on the BBC Dr Who website. Each show is rated by a panel of children....
