I was very impressed with the first episode of this tonight.
I didn't know anything about it, but was pleased to see it was a Hugo Blick, dh and I were only discussing The Honourable Woman yesterday.

I was going to watch this but switched to Strangers at the last minute as I thought it might be a bit too harrowing. Big mistake as Strangers was very dull. Will give BER a watch tonight.

I've just watched BER and thought it was great. Definitely recommend it as interesting and very grown up.

My friend's husband, a camera man was killed during making this. A stunt went wrong. She believes the production company didn't have enough safety measures in place. She (and others) tried to get the BBC not to show it.

She's now a young widow with a 12 year old daughter (who was 11 when her dad was killed).

I think the show is dedicated to that cameraman. Which would be a kick in the teeth for her if appropriate H&S precautions weren't taken during filming.

Oh no, 2Brie, I noticed the dedication at the end of the episode. That's awful, I'm very sorry for your friend's loss.
