crumbsinthecutlerydrawer · 05/09/2018 22:18

What what what? Did this start tonight? The last series has only just finished surely?

TyneTeas · 05/09/2018 22:22

I’ll catch up with this later when dp is in, it’s one of the few things we actually watch together.

There’s always one person on that I’d always liked and end up going off slightly because they take it a little too seriously and end up getting a bit stroppy. But I suppose that’s the programme, it brings out a childish sort of competitive side of people.

MyRelationshipIsWeird · 06/09/2018 10:53

Rhod has already made this series ten times better than the last one! And I love Kerry too, she’s bloody brilliant.

I love TM but the last series just fell flat. I was half excited/half dreading this new one in case it was also shit. But within minutes I breathed a sigh of relief!

But nothing will beat Romesh and the watermelon.

CaurnieBred · 06/09/2018 12:17

The bikini was classic and I was wetting myself

JustLikeBefore · 06/09/2018 12:23

love TM, one of the few programmes now were we sit in one room and watch as a family.

Rhod was brilliant and we were howling at the bikini bit.

viques · 06/09/2018 16:34

Thanks for the heads up, have now found it on UKTV!

TyneTeas · 06/09/2018 17:12

There's a Taskmaster book of tasks being advertised now too

Why oh why is Phil Wang wearing that yellow onesie?

BelfastBloke · 26/09/2018 11:23

I've been going back through old episodes, old seasons. What a good show.

  • Series 1 - Frank Skinner, Josh Widdicombe, Roisin Conaty, Romesh Ranganathan and Tim Key. The winner of the series was Josh Widdicombe.
  • series 2 - Doc Brown, Joe Wilkinson, Jon Richardson, Katherine Ryan and Richard Osman, with Katherine Ryan becoming the eventual winner.
  • Special - one-off special edition featuring five television executives was presented as a stage show during the 2016 Edinburgh International Television Festival. This version included pre-recorded tasks filmed at the house location and a final stage task.[12]
  • series 3 - Al Murray, Dave Gorman, Paul Chowdhry, Rob Beckett and Sara Pascoe; the winner was Rob Beckett.
  • Series 4 - Hugh Dennis, Joe Lycett, Lolly Adefope, Mel Giedroyc and Noel Fielding, and culminated in a win for Noel Fielding.
  • series 5 - Aisling Bea, Bob Mortimer, Mark Watson, Nish Kumar and Sally Phillips. The winner was Bob Mortimer.

Special - two part "Champion of Champions" special -The contestants are the winners of the first five series – that is, Josh Widdicombe, Katherine Ryan, Rob Beckett, Noel Fielding and Bob Mortimer. The winner was Josh Widdicombe,

  • series 6, which aired from 2 May to 4 July 2018, featured Tim Vine, Russell Howard, Asim Chaudhry, Liza Tarbuck and Alice Levine. Liza Tarbuck was the winner.
  • series 7, which began on 5 September 2018, is James Acaster, Jessica Knappett, Kerry Godliman, Phil Wang and Rhod Gilbert.

I think Richard Osman is my overall favourite competitor, as he always thought outside the box.

Wearing a special outfit for tasks has been done now (Mel / Tim / Josh off the top of my head), so Phil Wang's onesie falls a bit flat for me. Saying that, I still really like the ingenuity of a lot of the tasks.

BelfastBloke · 26/09/2018 13:06

Phil Wang's onesie, a homage to Bruce Lee's jumpsuit in Game of Death, constantly reminds me that he's forging a path for Chinese people on Western screens, just like Bruce Lee did. And I think that's why he's wearing it.

Clionba · 26/09/2018 14:16

I thought Lisa Tarbuck was good in the previous series. She always thought laterally.

BelfastBloke · 26/09/2018 15:05

Yeah she was great. She's always been great; I know quite a few people who previously didn't like her but taskmaster won them over.

Butterfly005 · 26/09/2018 16:59

I'm one of them, Belfast!

MelonBuffet · 26/09/2018 17:40

Me too. I think it was the one where she got the answer and then the blokes just stood there ignoring her, while she hopped 100 times and finished the task that won me over!

PristineCondition · 26/09/2018 17:42

We want a ultimate losers show.
All the crap hilarious ones from past series against each other

Clionba · 26/09/2018 17:55

I agree Melon!
Pristine that is an absolutely genius idea!

CurbsideProphet · 26/09/2018 19:44

Yes Pristine!

BearsDontDigOnDancing · 26/09/2018 20:06

We love Taskmaster in this house!

The near loss of Dave nearly made my get rid of Virgin in favour of Sky.

My favourite bit I think is the song that Nish Kumar and Mark Watson did.

Proving I am a terrible parent my 9 and 10 year old love it! There is the odd bit I have to pause and fast forward past, but generally it is ok.

An Ultimate Losers show would be awesome!

nowifi · 26/09/2018 20:25

Love it too so good! Loved Bob Mortimor and Paul Choudry too!
