I agree you need to watch it BlancheM. You don’t need to watch the whole show, it’s all over the internet.
I watched it live and had to rewind twice to see what the incident she referred to was. Then I watched it again when she later referred to him using her like a boxer with a punchbag. And I’ve watched close ups and slow-motion footage this morning.
My natural inclination was to believe her but the more I see the actual footage the more incredulous I become. What actually happened bears no resemblance to what she describes. He is messing about shadow boxing around her whilst the general conversation . He doesn’t appear to make contact but if he did, it was so fleeting that she doesn’t flinch or even seem to blink. Sally watches the whole thing and walks by, chatting without a second glance.
This has made me so uncomfortable - I want to believe women who say they have been intimidated or made uncomfortable by men’s behaviour. We have put up with too much casual sexism and abuse over the years to back track now. if Roxie’s allegations were true then it is quite right that Ryan should lose his good name, career and reputation over this. But from what I have seen it doesn’t appear to be true, it looks like she has, for whatever reason, hugely distorted a very innocent bit of by-play.
I read somewhere (I don’t know if it’s true) that she has suffered DV in the past so his behaviour might have been triggering for her. That’s the only slant I can put on this that might make her behaviour understandable rather than over dramatic or manipulative.
I hate writing this as it feels like victim blaming but in the context of the house and the relationships and dynamics we have seen, I cannot see he did anything wrong, let alone the violence she accused him of.
