Personally, i think "the poor wife" is more that he's there and isolated doing whatever the hell he likes without any contact with his wife, yet he's basically saying she'd be fine with him and Chloe. Whereas she's at home livid and probably wanting to tell him to piss off, but having to sit and watch this play out without any say in it. While also hearing him tell the public that she'll be cool with it all.
