The fake "for the dads" tears were to steal the attention for himself. It backfired as they couldn't believe he was sad for their deadbeat dads so had to change his story.

Hardeep was really scrabbling round then to explain his crying. What was it really about? Was he gutted to hear about Chloe's kid? It was weird
