I'd prefer Lynette - screwed up, ballsy, well-rounded characterwise and a little more real than the other characters!

Lynette, absolutely. Bree's an uptight anal PITA, Susan is so ditzy I want to slap her and tell her to get a fking grip and Gabrielle's too much of a prima donna for me to contemplate.

I think Lynette often lets Tom off lightly though. When she was crying in the bath after she'd fired the pizza guy dh said 'why on earth is she crying?" and I was able to say "because she briefly had a bit of romance and joy amongst the hard work and maelstrom of 5 children and a husband who's been on his back for weeks and Tom just had to go and spoil it and now it's gone and she's just back to normal life"
