Looks like it’s all going to kick off tonight.

ION: I find fake white teeth really macabre.

Veneers are only one up from dentures in my book. Come the apocalypse and we run out of glue they will be reduced to whittled stubs.

wontonsoup · 07/07/2018 23:28

Watching the weekly hot list. Jack2 selling the dream to Laura, hmm.

Missbrick1 · 07/07/2018 23:31

I would never get veneers

areyoubeingserviced · 07/07/2018 23:32

The obsession with plump lips astounds me
When I was younger , other children would call be rubber lips because I had plump lips. Now , people accuse me of having fillers.

nicenewdusters · 07/07/2018 23:40

I'm prepared to be told I'm wrong, but I think it's generally acknowledged that the use of the c word as an insult is pretty low and vicious. Used against a woman it goes up another level, and woman to woman most would be pretty appalled.

So whether as individuals we would or wouldn't use it, for Ellie to use it, on tv, against another woman, is I think quite shocking. From the bits I've seen Georgia was very goady but, even acknowledging that Ellie was really wound up, the use of that word makes me feel differently about her.

Zampa · 07/07/2018 23:42

Even from the other angle, it's clear that the first Jack2 and Georgia kiss was a mutual lip peck.

And what's with the condoning of words like c*t and s*g? Repulsive.

TatianaLarina · 07/07/2018 23:43

Clear to you, I don’t think many if any agree with you now.

Missbrick1 · 07/07/2018 23:45

I don’t personally like the C word & don’t use it although I know some women who do & I think it’s less shocking to younger generations. However I think it was mistake for Ellie to use it as I assume she is in there for fame & it won’t look good.

unique1986 · 07/07/2018 23:48

Did anybody see CBB last summer?
Sarah Harding called Jemma Lucy a Cxxx during an argument.
It was crazy mental series.
It wasn't censored and never is really.

wontonsoup · 07/07/2018 23:53

I think Ellie should have gotten botox rather than lip fillers, her frown lines are horrendous.

Zampa · 07/07/2018 23:56

In fact, the second angle makes him look more into the kiss than the first angle.

Twitter seems pretty divided so I know it's not just me who sees it like this.

BinkyTheBlinky · 08/07/2018 00:17

Dr Alex is hot as fuck. For anyone wondering who is voting to keep him in, it’s me 🙋🏻‍♀️

Darlin · 08/07/2018 00:19

I personally have never called anyone a cunt or a slag or anything like that and neither would I ever. But I've watched a lot of different shows and sadly gotten used to language like that in them because the insults are frequently used.

Love Island insults & fights are pretty mild in comparison. Still bad but I'm not shocked by them anymore after all the other in that regard way worse shows.

RoseWhiteTips · 08/07/2018 00:36

Jack 2 was assaulted by that vulgar disloyal Georgia. The end.

RoseWhiteTips · 08/07/2018 00:37

Alex is not hot at all. Sometimes he is genuinely witty, though.

SleepingInYourFlowerbed · 08/07/2018 07:26

I don't think we see what any of them are actually like. This is the most heavily edited
and influenced show I think I've ever watched! They're all Jekyll and Hyde - the nation's favourite one week, hated the next (or vice versa)

SleepingInYourFlowerbed · 08/07/2018 07:28

I think Alex is attractive. He's definitely the one that would be my type. The others are far too 'bantz' for me. I have no idea what his actual personality is like because of all the editing

ElspethFlashman · 08/07/2018 08:07

Oh this is MN, where someone posts "DH just called me a cunt, AIBU?" and loads of people say "Oh we use that word in banter all the time, calm down, YABU" but God forbid he calls her fat, then it's LTB. Hmm

RainySeptember · 08/07/2018 08:25

I also think that Alex is the most attractive in there. The rest might be entertaining to watch, and smoother with the girls, but who wants someone with banter finely-honed through years of chasing a shag. I'd much rather have someone a bit smarter and a bit less sure of himself. I like him more now I know he didn't actually apply, and had not watched previous series, but was headhunted and decided to give it a go for the adventure.

LadyRochfordsHoickedGusset · 08/07/2018 08:34

Absolutely Elspeth , cunt is ok but fat cunt changes everything.

Alex does have a good body and his humour is gradually growing on me. Maybe he's a grower .

Fintress · 08/07/2018 08:43

I absolutely loathe the 'C' word, it sounds vulgar regardless of what context it's used in. Ellie is as common as muck, I'd hate a son of mine to bring her home. No way is she and Charlie going anywhere when they come out.

JustDanceAddict · 08/07/2018 08:45

Alex is obviously a nice, good looking guy but not attractive to me at all. He just makes me cringe as I don’t think he’s Love Island material at all in terms of being a bit dim and shallow!! Niall had the whole package but he left too quickly

Bizarretortoise · 08/07/2018 08:49

That the c word bring used in banter is a justification is pretty sad itself. People don’t understand it’s origins and why it’s so offensive. We commonly accept historically racially offensive words as verboten, but the same is not true when it comes to gender. It should be. At a base level it’s reflective of how misogyny and demeaning other women is (still) somehow acceptable (cf whore, slag, etc, but on speed).
‘Fat c’, or in this case ‘ugly c’ coming out of her mouth and the vitriol with which they were spoken made Ellie look quite ugly. I think the boys who challenged her on it felt this too. Sad, but that incident reminded me of the Veela in Harry Potter. Beauty really is only skin deep. It’s takes a while for some people to realise that some of the most objectively pretty people aren’t beautiful people.

LadyRochfordsHoickedGusset · 08/07/2018 09:00

I think people absolutely understand its origins, how could you not? The C word has been around nearly a thousand years.

Sometimes and probably rarely only a vicious swear word will do.

However Ellie is a dick for saying that to G who she's obviously jealous of.

TatianaLarina · 08/07/2018 09:02

I don’t know that he is that nice. I think he’s pompous, shallow and self-obsessed.

As doctors go he’s not very bright, his personality is dire - awkward, dull, provincial.
