Anyone else watching? loving her kitchen.

boomboo · 02/08/2018 20:29

The house is amazing. What do they do for a living?

Fluffycloudland77 · 02/08/2018 20:31

Run a church Confused

Imfinehowareyou · 02/08/2018 20:43

I'm sure I read this on a previous Mumsnet thread - the explanation for the multiple supermarkets is to cover all bases with the viewers.

boomboo · 02/08/2018 20:50

@Fluffycloudland77 really?! The church must be doing well Grin

ellenanora5 · 02/08/2018 20:53

Ah feck thought it was on series record so missed this week, just turned it on and its nearly over.

Wincarnis · 02/08/2018 20:53

Yet again another family with โ€œno idea how much they spendโ€ - they run a church together but donโ€™t do any household management...hmmm....

Fluffycloudland77 · 02/08/2018 21:01

I always wonder about that as well.

jay55 · 02/08/2018 21:48

Other than one picking the olives out the tagine and the teens turning their noses up at the squash and crisps the kids were again remarkably unfussy for a total change of diet.

raisedbyguineapigs · 02/08/2018 23:00

To be fair, I know how much I spend on a main shop, but dont add up the popping to the shops to get fruit/ milk and coming out with more or the takeaways and coffees- although for us to spend \250 a week on takeaways, we would be having to get 4 or 5 a week, so we'd definately notice that! I was wondering about the church too. My Dbro belongs to an evangelical church. They are 'encouraged' to donate a percentage of their salary to the church. I'd be a bit Hmm if I did that and my pastor lived in a house like that! Unless they had high flying careers before that of course

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/08/2018 18:35

I like a CHINESE takeaway. We have one Friday night So tonight. Costs about ยฃ25 so ยฃ100 a month and yes ยฃ1200 a year ๐Ÿ™€๐Ÿ™€๐Ÿ™€

But thatโ€™s our treat !!!

Nice family. Loves the cooking and dancing

And we buy ready made mash and not ยฃ2. Itโ€™s 69/1.00 depends on Asda or coop

I bought a book called the takeaway secret & it's been brilliant. Chinese food isn't that difficult to re-create at home.

Dh says my chicken tikka masala is better than the indian restaurants but he is a sensible husband so he would say that.

popcorneveryminute · 03/08/2018 19:01

@Fluffycloudland77 I have that book but haven't made anything from it yet - is there anything you would recommend trying from it (other than the tikka masala obviously!)?

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/08/2018 19:07

I like the indian stuff and the special sauce for burgers. The doner kebab is amazing, we eat it weekly all year round. I made the Chinese special curry and the chow mein, all good.

I didn't like the breakfast sausage muffins or the quarter pounder burgers.

I cook rice the way they advise and it's much better.

popcorneveryminute · 03/08/2018 23:20

Thanks, will give these a go

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 04/08/2018 13:25

@Fluffycloudland77 - I don't suppose it has a reliable recipe for chicken and cashew nuts in yellow bean sauce, does it? That is my all-time favourite dish from the Chinese takeaway, and none of the ones near me make it - I can't find anywhere within driving distance.

The only time I had it, in living memory, was when I was visiting my sister in Amersham - her local Chinese does a lovely version of it, but sadly they don't deliver to just outside Paisley in Renfrewshire (the bastards).

Fluffycloudland77 · 05/08/2018 11:29

Nope, look online though. I've found allrecipes really good. I have a food allergy so I have to make things the rest of you can just buy.

DerelictWreck · 08/08/2018 16:44

Anyone know why they only put a few of the recipes online? The sweet and sour and the pancakes both looked good, but they're not there!

Who's a recipe wizz and wants to knock them up for me?!

raisedbyguineapigs · 08/08/2018 16:53

Maybe because there's a recipe book they want you to buy? It looks quite good but I have too many recipe books Grin

Carriemac · 04/10/2018 20:30

Anyone watching tonight?

HellaFresh · 04/10/2018 20:34

Yes me. Love this programme I wonder where it went !

HellaFresh · 04/10/2018 20:34

I mainly fancy Chris bavin tho

Carriemac · 04/10/2018 20:35

Hot and can Cook, whats not to Like

QueenOfIce · 04/10/2018 20:43

I need the recipe for those veggie croquettes but there's only 2 recipes online for tonight's episode.

Graphista · 05/10/2018 00:47

I think poppy is the one doing the most cooking? If she's cooking decent meals for the twins, why not just make enough for her and Emma too and either keep warm in oven or reheat in micro? Slow cooker another option (need to get a new one myself for similar reasons - dd working shifts and we're not eating at same times and it's messing our appetites/diet up) can slow cook a dish in time for first person to eat and pop in low until it's finished.
