I’ve just started this, I worry that it’s run out of steam - first two series great but the last series when Noah was experiencing psychosis was a bit of a flop.

Now Noah is living in LA to be closer to his kids because Helen and Vik have moved

Alison and Pacey are still in Montauk

What’s the point?

Season 3 was a disaster so I think they've done the right thing in moving on from that and returning to focus on the dynamics between the central characters (at least it seems it will be that way judging from episode 1). I still enjoy the multiple perspectives. We shall see how season 4 unfolds...

I have always loved this series, I love Noah, Helen, Alison & Cole. I agree that the last series wasn't as good as the previous two but I remain hopeful for this one. I sort of get Helen's disconnection to LA, and Noah's too, and I can sort of see how and why she seems to be losing herself somewhat. I do think the acting is generally superb between the four main characters and if I could do so I would absolutely binge on this in a day

The strength of the show is definitely its lead actors and great characters. It has lost the plot though

I can't give it up yet - still intrigued to see what happens & how their lives intersect...
