The imbalance between males going in and females going in is blatantly unfair. Why are the females at a disadvantage? This is the 21st century. 🙄

RoseWhiteTips · 27/06/2018 11:48

Megan hasn’t got the first clue how to play the game. She is too thick to get what she ought to do.

TatianaLarina · 27/06/2018 11:49

Megan could've pulled Laura aside to say Wes had indicated in a chat that he'd be up for cracking on with her, but she didn't want to pursue it while they were a couple

And made herself into shit stirrer extraordinaire?

After Wes and Megan’s chat, Wes went directly to talk to Laura, so Megan didn’t have time to.

BlancheM · 27/06/2018 11:50

I can't see Megan looking drastically different in middle age. Good looking people usually stay good looking unless something dramatic happens.

Nah I don't think Ellie was serious in her annoyance at Bird.

I totally didn't pick up on Laura being shit with Wes! Or that she wasn't really liked in the villa (seriously disliked, not taking into account banter). The producers are doing a crap job this year.

TatianaLarina · 27/06/2018 11:51

What ought she have done?

RainySeptember · 27/06/2018 11:55

I know a middle-aged Megan. Still glamorous, still out partying, no shortage of attention just from older, greyer, balding men now.

ThePrincipal · 27/06/2018 11:57

Sun damaged skin is not a good look on anyone, even if they were stunning in their youth.

Meghan is playing the game quite well I think, despite apparent lack of brains, maybe it’s more about instinct...

LadyRochfordsHoickedGusset · 27/06/2018 11:58

Isn't she just doing what they're encouraged to do in Love Island?

MiddleClassProblem · 27/06/2018 12:05

In love Island they itvis etiquette to speak to the partner of the person you are interested in, especially if they are involved, to indicate you are interested and would like to get to know them more.

This is seen as polite and less snakey. Just dealing with the partner is seen as stealing. Although complying to etiquette does not mean you will not be called a snake behind your back anyway.

LadyRochfordsHoickedGusset · 27/06/2018 12:07

She did speak to Wes first but didn't get round to Laura. Hence the vitriol I think. The smirking didn't help though.

ElspethFlashman · 27/06/2018 12:10

Meh, she'd be fucked with Laura anyway and she knew it. So she just didn't bother.

I do get that. Also she's seeing a dysfunctional coupling that isn't actually a relationship.

So she just went straight to the bloke. I understand that.

I also don't really think there needs to be Girl Code if you're not actually friends. And they clearly have never been friends.

TatianaLarina · 27/06/2018 12:17

Etiquette in LI? I’ve heard it all now.

She had to talk to Wes first, and following the talk Wes went straight to talk to Laura.

What would Megan have said ‘just a head’s up I’m going to nick your man’?

TheLastNigel · 27/06/2018 12:17

I thought Megan was horrible last night in all her interactions actually. And a I've never found her that attractive because she is so vacuous. Just so cringe that she complained Eyal never made her laugh and then went on to laugh like a maniac at everything Wes said, even if it wasn't remotely funny. It just made her look not quite the full shilling to me...

LadyRochfordsHoickedGusset · 27/06/2018 12:21

Etiquette Grin. I think they have a special LI etiquette which heavily involves pulling someone for a chat first, if you do that all is good. I think. Idk.

MiddleClassProblem · 27/06/2018 12:25

The etiquette in previous series tends to proceed “pulling for a chat” of the person you are interested in.

MiddleClassProblem · 27/06/2018 12:28

Obviously I am using the word etiquette humorously 🙄

Craftylady28 · 27/06/2018 12:29

Given that the label slag refers specifically to number of male partners this is all beside the point. - it doesnt mean that - it is someone who is immoral sexually.

Bluntness100 · 27/06/2018 12:30

I think Laura was clear it wouldn't make any difference if Megan spoke to her first. As much as I really can't warm to Megan I can see why she didn't speak to Laura, that was never going to go well for her. Laura isn't exactly coming across as the most rational person on the island.

I actually think she was day dreaming about marrying wes and having his babies. She seemed to cling on to that one comment he made about him falling for her, irrelevant of the fact they'd been fighting like cat and dog and the relationship had clearly changed, and she was also going to use the "you asked me to marry you" thing before she heard herself and backed away from it fast. But she definetly went there. She then changed it to you saw a future with me.

Not pleasant watching.

LoveProsecco · 27/06/2018 12:38

Hmm no wonder Megan doesn't have female friends!

Craftylady28 · 27/06/2018 12:38

I think Megan would have got punched if she had approached Laura to discuss her feelings.
But I still think she handled it appallingly. Why didnt she just say to Wes, "Look, I really fancy you, so I'll just leave that there for you, and you can do what you like with it." Rather than "Wes, kiss me." THAT is what made it so crap against Laura - she didn't want Wes to do the right thing, she just wanted to steal him away from Laura, probably boosting her ego

Sunflowersforever · 27/06/2018 12:44

Look how seriously we're all taking this. Smile

They've only known each other for three weeks!

Loving the onscreen drama, but it is a game show that they've chosen to participate in knowing what it's all about.

Relax, they'll all be fine. We'll be fine.

As last by as mumsnet gets an invite to Dani and Jacks wedding

Bluntness100 · 27/06/2018 12:50

It's interesting though. Because it's a snap shot into human behaviour and our interpretation of it.

We can all witness rhe exact same thing and interpret it differently.

An example is Ellie. Sam pied her. She reacted by calling him a fucking prick and giving him the finger. She explained she was fuming and her facial expressions confirmed it. She explained alexs was sweet about it. Yet some folks think she was kidding and she wasn't angry at Sam. Others like myself can't understand how they came to that conclusion. We all watched the same thing. Yet saw different things and interpreted her behaviour totally differently.

TatianaLarina · 27/06/2018 12:51

When blokes do it I cringe as it looks very chauvinist as if they own the woman, I don’t think it’s any better the other way round.

fairylightsdown · 27/06/2018 12:55

TheLastNigel- totally agree. I thought the same about Megan not being the full shilling while watching the show last night. She is dead behind the eyes too. Something doesn't sit right with me about her and i feel like there is something wrong with her. I find her disturbing.

Zara is annoying me. She was struggling to hold a one on one conversation with Wes last night. Someone (can't recall who) thankfully joined the conversation.

TatianaLarina · 27/06/2018 12:57

They've only known each other for three weeks!

IKR. People talk on here as if they’re in ltr, as if they hadn’t just met and coupled up in order to see if they have enough in common to make a relationship work.

Unsurprisingly, in most cases they don’t.
