Poor singing, opportunistic jingoism (2018, of course it would be this year).

Patriotism is jingoism ? Not in my book. Loved the flag waving. Made me very proud

This is supposed to be a talent show. The audience were issued with flags and the old soldiers were wheeled out for pure manipulation. They are a tribute group and not suitable for a show like this. They were bigged up by the judges and then the poor magician was put up against them at the end. Would like to know what the actual votes were. As a ps I am a child of the air raid shelters and revere what the armed forces did for us but I was disgusted about the result.

Oh i don't think they are going to physically roll out Dame Vera just singing her song but you never know they want to win.

I think there is also the knowledge that this sort of thing is right up Cowell's street ... so I do find it a bit opportunistic. But I suppose fair play to them. It just isn't my cup of tea and I think things like this make us forget what an awful thing war is to be honest by making it all cosy and victory rolls and Vera Lynn. But hey ho: good luck to them.

It annoyed me when Simon said they had never had anything like them before on the show. they have : multiple times.

I didn't like Lifford's song choice but it's clear Simon wanted rid of him.

Of course they’re doing things that they think will help them win - that’s kind of the point!

Simon Cowell talks rot he just opens his gob of course he has heard singing like that before a woman with a victory roll auditions yearly but as said fair play to them they have cornered a patriotic market.

I didn't mind them but I didn't like bringing out vetrans for entertainment I didn't like when the magican did it the other year either.

Acts are doing things that will win them votes. The magician guy brought out a veteran in 2016 and was it the previous year that the dog act brought out a 3 legged dog for the final ??

I suppose my main beef is that I just think they're second rate singers and the whole staging (provided for them by ITV) distracts us from that, whereas the staging for others (eg the dancing boy) actually DEtracts from the performance.

The veterans annoyed me too - not them per se but the reliance on that gimmick to get them through when they're much less talented than others.

I dislike this new format with the judges deciding on the second act to final. Top two of the public vote should be through as in previous years.

I think last year was top two highest but looking back there was the "judges vote" in previous years before that.

I do like judges having 2nd choice - just not when they vote in a way I don't like
