I'm starting a thread for those of us watching Season 2 and who want to discuss ahead of its screening in the UK.

So far I've watched the first 3 episodes.

God the 1st episode was grim.

I think Hulu releasing trailers / spoilers of the drowning was a mistake . Imagine seeing that episode without knowing what was coming up.

Reminds me of the ISIS video where they lowered a cage full of prisoners into a swimming pool...

I wonder if Aunt Lydia will insist that June is kept in the house to breast feed the baby.

Aridane · 30/06/2018 18:07

Though the clip showed June begging to,be,allowed to nurse baby...

and Serena berating Fred asking if he had allowed, her to touch the baby

Gilead is all about evo friendliness remember so they have very little in the way of technology the only time ive seen it used is Fred using a laptop at the dining table. If you notice in the kitchen and rooms theres no electric appliances or tv or anything either they rely solely on things like knitting and gardening to pass their time

Ambiguous teasers about Rita and her loyalties

I think know Rita will report Eden and Issac going missing and be the cause of them dying

Aridane · 01/07/2018 08:29

Ooh

Did we find out where Hannah's family were going to?
Does anyone think they might flee Gilead?
It looks like they love her (family photos, dolls house in the study, for a Gileadan family very few beatings...) and with the pink robes does that mean she is destined to be a Handmaid? Perhaps they want a different life for her.
It would be a great storyline in season 3 for Hannah to be in Canada with her Gilead parents who she presumably loves and who got her out but are prob pretty weird and maybe committed crimes, but also her real father Luke.

It looks like Serena will realise that having a baby doesn't solve her problems, and that Eden's murder will hit her hard, presumably make her fear for her (stolen) daughter's future. Ep 13 says Serena and wives try to effect a change but presumably it won't be successful. What would Serena do then, if she loses all hope of a happy Motherhood in Gilead? Flee with the baby? Flee without the baby? Help someone else flee with the baby (Nick? Rita?). Lose her sanity? Murder Fred?

I think Rita saw Eden and Isaac kissing and reports it. She is visibly cross by all the flirting in the household and with Eden. After Eden is killed I think Rita is shocked and remorseful and she starts the fire and it gets attributed to Serena's smoking.

For anyone interested, a summary of episode 12 and 13 is online on Reddit by people who claim to have watched them.

The episode 12 review I read yesterday before it was released anywhere and it was accurate now that I've read a professional review online today. So I think likely the ep 13 summary is genuine too.

They are on the Reddit forum. You need to scroll down to find the thread with episode 13 summary.

Personally I prefer knowing the outcome before I watch an episode as I am too nervous and tense to enjoy it otherwise.

Wasn’t sure which,Reddit thread you’re referring to,but,maybe that’s for the best

AcrossthePond55 · 04/07/2018 14:52

What an emotional roller coaster!

Will wait a bit to discuss specifics so others have a chance to watch before I start posting storyline.

Middleoftheroad · 04/07/2018 15:15

Thanks. Watching last episode now but will wait until everyone else has seen it too before commenting.
