Handmaids Tale, Season 2: SPOILERS / VIEWING AHEAD OF UK SREENING

I'm starting a thread for those of us watching Season 2 and who want to discuss ahead of its screening in the UK.

So far I've watched the first 3 episodes.

God the 1st episode was grim.

Love that actress playing Serena is pregnant!!

Maybe those men who took Nick were Mayday...

I read an interview with Yvonne Strahovski where she said that her baby is due September and the filming of her scenes for S3 is going to be slightly delayed to allow her some mat leave. So she’s definitely in season 3.

I wouldn't say definitely, as some actors and actresses do this to throw off the scent. But it's likely. I hope so, because I think she's a great actress even if I don't like her character.

I just think it must be Fred - why send them there? He knew where they would be. In the same episode as June made it explicit that the child wasn’t his.

True, Hididdly, I hope she is too though, completely agree she’s a brilliant character.

What I would like is Eden & the Commander in the water- from Luke saying it was them two cheating instead. That’d be a good plot twist. Eden, lets face it, doesnt have much place for another series unless shes pregnant or something. Even then zzzz

I did wonder if it could have been Fred setting them up. But then why risk June getting away? He’d either want to deal with her as well or have her captured and sent back.

I've never got the feeling that Fred cares about this baby, whether he thought it was his or not. I just think he wants it for Serena and for his status. Probably not even for Serena anymore.

People are so desperate. What if Rita takes the baby for herself as she misses her son so much?

Occurred to me today that the Handmaids tale is the first time a show has Portrayed American's having to flee to another country and they are the Immigrants in "Little America" where as its usually people fleeing to America and the UK so i hope this show has given those Americans that think immigration is bad and wrong etc a view of what the shoe is like on the other foot. It could be them fleeing someday or even us in the UK...

You have a point, Praise. But the ones who are so anti-immigration probably wouldn't be watching Handmaid in the first place. And if they are, they're looking at it as a blueprint!!!

That's not Nick, he's too tall and fair. It's the guardian she kissed.

I agree with those saying that it's Eden and Isaac. No way it's Nick, the shackled man is too tall and light complected.

I can't identify anyone in the picture of the female in red and white standing with a male sitting. But it looks to me as if the female may be a child? Otherwise that man is HUGE compared to her. He also appears to be older, his hair and beard look like they have grey in them. Flashback scene? Maybe Eden and her father?

I thought the female in red and white was Emily?

Who is Offred lying with both dressed in white?
