Rich house, poor house - am I the only one wondering this

Genuine question- When watching these kind of programs am I the only one wondering how the females from the ‘poor’ families have hair that looks like it was done in a salon?
I am no way rich but I still couldn’t afford to go into a salon for a colour. Can just about afford a haircut

Lots of people have friends who do it for mates rates. Or they just prioritise their money in that area.

My local college offers cut, colour and blow-dry for £18. A couple of box dyes would set you back the same.

She is a hairdresser !
But often they get friends to do their hair or they dye it themselves (packet from supermarket).

She is a hairdresser... and maybe when you go on telly, you want to look your best. A bit of hair colour, make up and new clothes (that aren't washed out) are a lovely treat. So why not?
