Bake off Stand Up to Cancer.. husband and I were both crying at that. It was a young mum with breast cancer who didn’t make it.

A few years ago, there was an episode of Grand Designs where at the start it was revealed that the husband had just been diagnosed with stomach cancer. He was only a young guy and had a wife and kids. It was his dream to build his own house. He died shortly afterwards and his wife went on to build the house in his memory. She did it by herself with help of all their friends. To see her there by herself with her children at the end was utterly heartbreaking. I howled from the start to the finish of that episode 😭

Yes to the Christmas episode of Old Jack's Boat! I sobbedto that, it was a beautiful episode.

Nothing has made me cry like the 12 Days of Christine from the Inside No. 9 series. Utterly brilliant television, so well acted and written.

Graphista · 30/04/2018 14:51

ALL the time!

Green in ER
Clooney and then marguiles leaving ER
Will dying in the good wife
Denny in greys anatomy
Nana in eastenders
Kats disclosure of her abuse in eastenders
Hillsborough documentary
Scandal when James died
Meg bowman dying in home and away (wrecked me at the time that one)
Stan in Corrie - yes I'm old enough to remember that one
Anyone remember soldier soldier? Tony Wilton dies and it's sad but the bit that got me and I still remember was the episode after joy is sorting through his things and has kinda kept it together, then she smells a t-shirt of his and that does it! She's gone (wrecked me too)
Designated survivor Natascha mcelhones exit

This is us - EVERY EPISODE!
Obem almost as bad.
Charmed - when piper is angry with prue for leaving her.

Figgy are you getting the next season before us? If so I'm jealous (anyone know when uk getting it?)

Friends - when Ross and Rachel properly break up the morning after, when Phoebe tricks her with the pregnancy test, when monica gets the adoption phone call at thanksgiving, Phoebe saying goodbye to the triplets, when Joey tells Rachel he loves her but she doesn't feel the same, the last one.

When obama won his first presidential election - I even stayed up late for that. Hoped but didn't really believe it would happen until it did.

When George Michaels death was announced and watching tributes for that (big fan)

Inside No 9- 12 Days of Christine

Mrsknackered · 30/04/2018 14:58

I’m a TV sobber.

Recent things - OBEM, Stephen Lawrence documentary, Grey’s Anatomy

BitOutOfPractice · 30/04/2018 14:59

All the time. Doesn't everyone?

JaneJeffer · 30/04/2018 15:15

Emmerdale makes me cry a lot much to the amusement of my family. But last week I could have cried at how bad it was!

findingmyfeet12 · 30/04/2018 18:13

Call the Midwife
One Born Every Minute
Long Lost Family
Nana dying in The Royle Family
Blackadder when they go over the top
Countless more

qazxc · 30/04/2018 20:46

Yep loads of times. Most recently when I saw the documentary blackfish.

Olddear · 30/04/2018 21:02

Hilda Ogden and Stans glasses case.....couldn't bear to watch that again.

BuggeringNora · 30/04/2018 23:37

ER when Lucy and Carter are stabbed and Lucy dies. The bit where 'hard man' Romano is trying to save her and he realises it's futile, loses it and throws the equipment across the room, all the while Elizabeth is standing there, covered in Lucy's blood, holding the internal paddles. Sob!
And when Mark Greene dies, obvs.

Loonoon · 01/05/2018 13:21

The advert where the little girl 'buys' some chocolate for her mums birthday and the kind shopkeeper gives her 'change'.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 01/05/2018 13:23

All the time! I'm forever telling people on TV not to cry because they'll set me off.

Loonoon · 01/05/2018 13:25

The episode of The Young Offenders where they sing at Jock's mum's grave. And the one when Mairead confronts Jock and then rescues him. Crying just writing about it. I LOVE that series.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 01/05/2018 13:29

thecatneuterer 😭

Loonoon · 01/05/2018 13:34

And the end of Derry Girls when the young ones go wild whilst the adults stand and watch the reports of the Omagh bomb on tv and the grumpy old dad leans on the husband's shoulder. So beautifully done. And I'm crying again!

Pandora1box · 01/05/2018 13:37

All the time! I was re watching the Gavin and Stacey box set over the weekend and cried a few times in that:
Series 1 when Bryn is reading out the letter to Stacey from her dad.
Series 2 when Nessa gives birth and Smithy gives her a kiss on the head (it's just such a tender moment and the essence of the show for me!)
Series 3 when Stacey tells Gavin she is pregnant.

But generally I cry at loads of TV programmes and films.

MinesaPinot · 01/05/2018 13:40

Oh god yes, me and DH are as bad as each other sometimes!

Call the Midwife - I don't think there's been one I haven't cried at

Nana in the Royale Family. Funnily enough it wasn't so much when she died, but I think it was in the same episode, when Barbara was doing her hair, Que Sera Sera came on and she says something like "I do love you Barbara" - Sue Johnstone looks as though she was going to go herself - fabulous acting (I'm welling up now)

And when it comes to films; Sleepless in Seattle, "You'll Never Walk Alone" and "If I loved you" in Carousel, and the end of the King and I, when the King dies.

FrogPie · 01/05/2018 13:42

No, never - always thought there was something wrong with me. Absolutely sobbed at the end of Avengers; Infinity War though.

mostdays · 01/05/2018 13:47

All the time!

The end of the Fresh Prince episode in which Will's dad has been back in his life still brings me to the point of actual sobbing, every single time.

LockedOutOfMN · 01/05/2018 13:48

I cried watching a film where Matt Dillon plays a homeless man.

thurmanmerman · 01/05/2018 13:51

Loads of times.
When Eddie Hall broke the deadlift world record was the last time!! Amazing

whatsfairhere · 01/05/2018 14:15

Oh my god mostdays that episode of Fresh Prince destroyed me!

"How come he don't want me man?"

😭

Apparently the entire cast and crew were in floods of tears!

Graphista · 01/05/2018 15:16

Oh yes!

To Lucy's death in ER
THAT Fresh prince episode - that IS my bastard ex! Dd still wants him to want her, it'll never happen and there's nothing I can do about it.

cloudyweewee · 01/05/2018 20:14

Oh that is heartbreaking. I;m welling up just thinking about that scene!

In Friends, I always cry when Monica proposes to Chandler. It's just the sight of all those candles flickering away.
