Anyone watching? Loved Mary and full of admiration for the crews, carrying on regardless. Why was it their job to check the suicide for notes though?

But how do you judge it? our service is free at the point of use and charging emergency cases retrospectively is a slippery slope

TheAntiBoop · 03/05/2018 21:43

I think prevention is better - maybe this program should be compulsory viewing for teenagers!

Toddlerteaplease · 03/05/2018 21:43

Yes. That would be the problem. Some cities have special mobile centres to deal with drinking in city centres and it keeps loads of people out of a&E

Lifeaback · 03/05/2018 21:43

misseliza it's not too late at all! I worked in the tv industry in my twenties and at 30 decided it wasn't satisfying me so I gave it up to fulfill my lifelong dream of being a paramedic. My course was predominantly mature students- it's a vocation which people often realise they want to do later than traditional careers! Ive been working for 6 years now and it's the most incredible job- the job satisfcation is incomparable to anything else Ive ever done.

I love the series and love how it portrays us. I really like how it reminds everyone it's not all heart attacks and car crashes, so much of our work revolves around the elderly and people suffering from mental health issues.

As someone who's worked making documentaries and is now a paramedic, I love that the programme has bought the two worlds together for me!

TheSpottedZebra · 03/05/2018 21:45

Would we also charge ambulance users who drive motorbikes or use trampolines?
Or smoke, or overeat, etc etc?

TheAntiBoop · 03/05/2018 21:47

Well much respect to all you paramedics on here - thank you!

TheAntiBoop · 03/05/2018 21:47

And I find the fact that the paramedics are so non-judgemental the most moving part.

SneakyGremlins · 03/05/2018 21:49

Paramedics were great with me when I went to A+E lately - thankyou for what you do!

mypickleliesovertheocean · 03/05/2018 21:49

I found new year's eve surprisingly bearable. New year's day was horrific, I went home in tears from the way I'd been spoken to and how horrible it was.

Toddlerteaplease · 03/05/2018 21:53

Thought that was going to be Ernie again.

NakedMum33and3rd · 03/05/2018 21:53

All the paramedics are incredible. I've only ever called them once when my son and husband both fell down the stairs. They were amazing. The nhs is incredible and we are so lucky.

LIZS · 03/05/2018 21:54

Poor Arthur Sad

Awww Arthur Sad

SneakyGremlins · 03/05/2018 22:01

Watching the previous episode now.

Pigeonpair1 · 03/05/2018 22:08

I am in awe of the amazing job our paramedics do.

Ambulance is an outstanding programme as is 999 What's your Emergency.

FoofFighter · 03/05/2018 22:31

Why are they showing them out of sync? Last week it was January blues, this week New Year's Eve?

MissEliza · 03/05/2018 23:21

Cynara I have just seen your post. I can't find a way to access PMs on the app. I'll try to figure it tomorrow. Thanks x

iklboo · 04/05/2018 08:29

I don't think you can PM on the app.

CharltonLido73 · 05/05/2018 07:49

Why did thy change the episode they were originally going to show? Does anyone know?

Apparently was due to someone featuring in that episode being involved in a court case currently (murder, I think) so for legal reasons they cannot show it whilst the trial is on.

NakedMum33and3rd · 05/05/2018 16:05

Thank you!!! Makes sense!

rugbychick1 · 05/05/2018 16:42

I love watching ambulance too, and despite working in the nhs, I ad ire what paramedics do. As an aside, has anyone watched the Hospital series that finished last week? It's fascinating, and so accurate for every hospital trust in the country

MissEliza · 09/05/2018 18:01

Poor Ernie and Arthur. I can't how the paramedics felt having to close the door on him, knowing he was all alone.
Is anyone able to get through this without tears?

Toddlerteaplease · 10/05/2018 21:24

Love the crew changing the bed and sorting out the 96 year old mans clothes. And making him a cup of 'dishwater' tea!

LIZS · 24/05/2018 22:04

That was pretty depressing. Poor Hazel too.
