I thought priests, vicars and the like had to have the loudest, most awful singing voice in the congregation? I thought that was like the law or something

REM have split now. I saw them sing this live in Ipswich the day after 7/7.
They came to the front of the stage and made a speech and reduced almost the whole audience to tears and then played Everybody Hurts... Sad

The Singing Priest wouldn't have been out of place in Father Ted. Ted and Dougal would have been impressed with his 'popular hit tune'.

I thought the priest had really good variation in his tone and good control. I liked him because I've never heard anyone sing like that on a talent show before. To be fair to him, he doesn't want a career in singing; he just wants to sing in front of the royal family, so the X Factor wouldn't be any good for him.
